If you like complaining, you'll love CI's mgement!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/3/11
Folks, should you not have high expectations, you will not be disappointed with the comfort inn in Philly. I had an issue, and wrote the reservation department (by accident) who forwarded it to the hotel. Who did nothing, not even respond. I wrote hotel again directly the general manager, who again did what they do best, nothing. not even a 'sorry we can't help you'. I wrote their franchiser, choice hotels, and all their executives, and got a message they would contact the hotel, who again did what they do best, and ignored them as well. Since the issue was I had reservations to spend my wedding anniversary there, I think it was good karma that kept me from the establishment, since with that degree of apathy in the management, I'm sure it would have trickled down to the staff and made for a miserable stay.

DON'T STAY HERE!!!!
By Auntie YoYo, 10/4/09
I live in Philly. My husband and I decided to stay at the Comfort Inn so that we could visit some bars and clubs in the area without having to make the drive on 95 home at 2 or 3 in the morning. We booked our reservation online the same day. We received prompt, but somewhat uncourteous, service and our room keys did not work initially. The hallways smelled very bad, but our room was spotless and the beds and pillows were great. We had a beautiful view of the Ben Franklin Bridge and waterfront from our window on the 6th floor. Our biggest issue was that they allow public parking in the lot at hourly rates. Guests are charged $23.00 as well and we had to make a spot to park in when getting back to the hotel at night because the lot was packed with about a dozen cars double parked. Altough it was one of the cheaper hotels in the area, I would spend more next time at the Hyatt up the road or one of the bed and breakfasts a few blocks away.

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/6/09
The only two times I have ever been to the Comfort Inn, the fire alarm rang both times. The first occurence, it rang 3 times at 4 AM!! The next time I was there, I rang at 12 AM!! Unacceptable.

Nice hotel near historical sites
By john, 11/17/07
The hotel was a nice surprise for the money. We called about 7 in the evening and reserved a room. Check in took about 5 mins. the room was clean and we had a great view of the bf bridge. on the third floor. We had a drink at the bar downstairs and met bumpy the bartender who is a life long philly resident. He told us what to see and not to see. He saved us alot of research. The best part of the hotel is that it's only a 10 min. walk to all the historical sites. We will stay there the next time we are in philly.

WOULD NEVER MAKE RESERVATIONS AGAIN
By HJW, 11/14/07
I AM A TRAVEL AGENT AND WOULD NEVER AGAIN SUGGEST ANY COMFORT INN AGAIN . ALSO PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & NEVER USE EXPEDIA TO BOOK YOUR STAY. I HAVE NOTHING BUT NIGHTMARES FROM THEM. I WAS IN TOWN FOR FEDERAL JURY DUTY AND WAS ASSURED BY THE HOTEL THAT IF I WAS NO LONGER NEEDED AS A JUROR I COULD CANCEL MY STAY. AFTER BEING RELIEVED OF SERVICE AT 4:30 PM I CALLED THE HOTEL AND CANCELLED , THEY TOLD ME NO PROBLEM. I ARRIVED BACK TO RETRIEVE MY CAR AND AGAI SPOKE TO THE FRONT DESK AND WAS ASSURED EVERYTHING WAS FINE , BUT I NEEDED TO CALL EXPEDIA. I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO THEM AND THEY WOULD NOT ISSUE A REFUND, EVEN AFTER THE HOTEL SAID THEY WOULD NOT CHARGE THEM. THERE OWN POLICY STATES THAT THERE WOULD ONLY BE A 25.00 CHARGE FOR A CANCELLATION BEFORE 6 PM. I'VE BEEN ASSURED TAT CUSTOMER SERVICE WOULD CALL ME BACK IN 10 MINUTES WITH A RESOLUTION. I WAITED ANOTHER 2 HOURS WITH NO CALL BACK. IT IS NOW 2:48 AM & NO CALL BACK. I NOW AM ON HOLD AGAIN FOR THE LAST 30 MIN. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DEAL WITH COMPANIES LIKE THIS?

Good location for Penns Landing activities
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/25/07
Overall the hotel stay was ok. Room was clean and beds comfortable. My only negative feedback is having to pay extra for parking in their parking lot. That is the first time I have ever had to pay extra to park when staying at a hotel . Plus it was way to much to park. $19.99. They really should do away with charging hotel guests to park.

A memorable stay!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/19/06
We just got home from our trip to Philly and all I can say is "Wow"!!! Comfort Inn has the perfect location and the view of the bridge and water is breath-taking. The room and lobby was very clean and comfortable. The staff treated us like we were long time friends, instead of just another couple staying for the weekend. The shuttle they provide is a huge help. The drivers were all nice and were like our own personal tour guides (Make sure you tip them well for all the hard work they do!!) Now for our favorite part of the trip: You can't go to Philly without stopping in to see our favorite bartender and friend, Bumpy at the Comfort Inn. He makes the best drinks in PA and knows ALL of the best sites to see. While you're having a drink with Bumpy, make sure you say "hello" to Jimmy. He's the night time security gaurd for the hotel. I think Jimmy also bartends on Monday night, so stay an extra day and hang out. Remember, Tip Your Bartender!!! We'll definitely be back soon.

Great v alue in safe hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/29/06
The staff was friendly and courteous. I felt safe walking at night with my husband from Phlash stop to hotel. I felt safe in the hotel. The internet access and hotel shuttle were wonderful. Fortunately the weather cooperated so we were able to do alot of walking from the hotel to the historic district. When we needed the shuttle it was available and drivers were very helpful. And the breakfast was constantly stocked and plenty of room for people to sit. The value of the hotel and the free services they offered - breakfast, internet and shuttle, made it quite a bargain. We spent the last night at a conference in center city, paid twice the price for the room and they charged for breakfast, internet, shuttle and parking was twice the rate of the Comfort Inn. Also, we did not have a car during our stay which is why we walked/shuttled or used the city transportation. I was concerned about staying at the hotel after reading some of the reviews. And I was pleasantly surprised that it was very enjoyable, felt safe, able to walk to medium priced restaurants and close to the Plash. Also, we requested a river view room and it was not only beautiful view but quiet.
