Eagle River Motel, Eagle River

The rooms were spacious and clean. They provided coffee makers, a mini-fridge and free wireless Internet Access! The front desk staff were extremely helpful and were able to provide menus for many of the local restaurants. There are lots of restaurants and stores, including a supermarket, within walking distance. The motel is close, but not too close, to the Glenn Highway. Easy access. The value is great - much cheaper than staying in Anchorage (we stayed at the Merrill Field Inn our first night in town and it was a dump, and cost more).

In Summer when every hotel accomodation in Alaska at least doubles, I chose Eagle River Motel, at Eagle River, which is about 15 minutes drive drom Anchorage, for it's reasonable price. Was surprised to see the rooms with lots of space, kitchenette, microwave, microfridge and best of all a complimentary breakfast which was not advertised. The breakfast was of very high quality. The front desk folks were too nice. Great value with a good surprise.

This hotel is very homey. After a 4 day drive through Canada and waiting on papers to go thru on our house, this was a wonderful place to sit back and relax. With a very inviting atmosphere and extremely friendly staff, we would be happy to stay here anytime!

As Military, our extended stay was great and the ownership did everything possible to make our long stay great. I would recomend this to any one that is coming to either the Anchorage area or Eagle River. Don't let the distance fool you, it is very close to all the sites. Pets are welcome and that is a nice feature for people traveling.
