Exactly!!! We can't wait to go back!!

This was not the place we originally had in mind to stay at while in Nanaimo. We had travelled a great distance, were very tired and wished to stay at the Buccaneer Inn. Checked it out, however the only room avaiable was one with kitchen, living room and separate bedroom c/w 2 beds for a discount price of $130.00 + tax per night (and this was in the middle of September). This was too high a price for us so the owner suggested the Travelodge. Accordingly, we were not in the best of moods upon arriving at the Travelodge front desk. It was not the place we wanted to stay. However, our whole experience was unbelievable! The desk clerk(s) were so cordial and helpful, trying all kinds of ways to get us a good deal for the six nights we wished to stay as they were quite booked up. Letting us check out the rooms, etc. We ended up with a room on the third floor c/w kingsize bed, huge TV, very nice balcony to sit on and enjoy the great weather mornings and evenings. The furniture was new, the drapes were new, the bedding was new, the bathroom was new. They provided us with a fridge and microwave for our stay. The room was cleaned very well each and every day. Our bedding changed once during our stay. We had a coffee maker and the housekeeping attendant provided us with extra coffee, tea, cream and sugar on a regular basis...no problem. They had a laundry facilty that we used and provided irons for our use. There was a continental breakfast in the lobby every morning from 6:00 until 10:00 consisting of coffee, tea, juices, fruits, muffins, danishs, cereals. There were complimentary newspapers in the lobby every morning. Anything we asked for, they provided. They were very eager to please. Our experience there was the most pleasurable one we have had in a motel/hotel in a very, very long time. Not only great service, smiling and helpful staff but wonderful CLEAN rooms, comfortable beds, pillows and bedding, great views, free parking, laundry facilities, free highspeed internet, but also restaurants so very close. Whitespot across the street (great burgers), Husky restaurant across the parking lot (good food & great Sunday brunch), Nanaimo Harbour and Maffeo Sutton Park are just across the street and down the hill. Very short walk. We loved staying here and will do so again the next time we are in Nanaimo, which will be as soon as possible.
