Hotel Metro, New York

Good place to stay! My favorite in this area for sure. Staff was kind. Ended up getting this hotel pretty cheap at SweetHotelDeals. Net Check it out guys if you wanna save some $ while booking!

It was a great hotel, I stayed there a few nights. I paid for most of it with a free gift card that I got from ESPN. I think they're still giving them out at nflgiftcards.info, hurry before they run out!

So unlike most of these reviews my family and i did not have a nice stay at this hotel we only stayed one night,and thank god for that! we called the day before to see if we could have an early check in and they informed us that it would be ok. My daughter was graduating from college in the city at 6pm and we wanted time to get ready. we arrived at 12 and were told that our room would not be ready for another hour, so we did some shopping and came back in a hour then were told our room was still not ready so we proceeded to go get lunch becaseu we were told our room would defenitly be ready with in 15 min. when we returned with in an hour there was a new staff at the front desk that told us our room was still not ready, this women was so rude and arrogant that we just wanted to leave , but after waiting another 30 min we finally were put into our "penthouse" room where there were two bed that were small. we had five people that were staying over. when we called the front desk to ask for a cot we were informed that our penthouse suit was only for 2 people and that we were going to be charger 25$ extra a person. with that being said we thought that we could get a roll away bed, but no they had none! my daughters boyfriend had to end up sleeping on the ground. if this was not bad enough my daughter found dirty boxers under the bed!!!! i almost died when i saw this i was disgusted and mortified i am not one to complain about hotels and i am an easy going person along with my family but our stay here was just plan awful i would not go back and not recomend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!

I have to write a review after reading such a negative one below. I can't believe this person was in the same hotel. My first trip to New York and The Hotel Metro was superb. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and in such a great location. I would definately recommend it to anyone and will go back there myself. Complimentary breakfast was great with something for everyone.

Beware of the little signs throughout the lobby that say, "no food or drink in this area". I was sipping on a cup of coffee at 9 AM when the owner walked by and asked me if I knew how to read (like I'm a child or something). A minute later he came back and told his staff at the front desk to "check him out!". I'm totally serious... He was actually doing me a favor because I will NEVER stay in his dump hotel EVER again and neither will anyone else from my company. For $420 a night, I'd rather stay at any other hotel in Manhattan where the guest is welcome. Cheap furniture made in China (that the owner is so protective of) is what to expect at Hotel Metro. No water pressure in the shower, slow (crowded) elevators that take forever to get up to the 12th floor. Rooms smell of rotten fish from the Korean restaurant next store. I can go on and on but this place is not worth it. Stay far way from this dive hole-in-the-wall and the better off you'll be. Take my word for it.

My wife and I have been to new york three times and have stayed at three different hotels. We have now found the hotel that we will stay at every time we visit the Big Apple. This hotel was top notch in our book and we highly recommend it to visitors that are reading this review. Great location, clean hotel, polite employees, and the right price.

I just returned from a 5 day stay at Hotel Metro and here are my opinions: Positives - Free breakfast (includes 3-4 cereals, many kinds of muffins and bagels), not hot - Location, literally 50 paces from subway entrance. - Free wifi worked extremely well from my room and the cafe. Negatives - Room was small but knowing this going in, it wasn't a big deal. - Street noise was pretty bad. Get a room facing away from the street if possible. Otherwise you'll hear the trash trucks and horns all night. All in all I liked the place but I'd probably try another hotel next time anyhow. I just like to try different places. I paid $175/night and while that is good for NY, it felt like a lot for the small room. But the price was worth it with the free breakfast and wifi. Notes: There is no pool. Our room did not have a pillow top bed.

Great value, good location for transportation, good staff, good complimentary breakfast served in a pleasant room. We booked the "family suite" and it was AMPLE space for our needs. Everything you could want and a 24 hr. deli/grocery around the corner. I would recommend to my friends AND go back.

Rooms were small, view was bad. But, room and restroom was clean! The staff was OK, not rude, but not exceptionally friendly. But again at $220 per night versus $900 for the Park Avenue hotels I was delighted. OH, wouldn't want to bring my 6 and 7 yr old to this hotel....too cramped!

If you want Clean, Location and Price. Be sure this is the place. CLEAN, CLEAN, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!!!!!!!!!!. You step out the door, and right there the train. Bathroom and bed clean clean. And at last, breakfast is included!!!!!!!!!. My first time in a hotel in New York, and i was afraid, but surprise this is perfect.
