Consumer ALERT
By Jerome, 08/14/07
when you book a room at this hotel...DO NOT PAY before you see the room. This hotel is distgusting. As soon as we saw the room, we immediately returned to the front desk to get a refund so we could stay somewhere that was remotely clean...anything would have been better. When we arrived at the front desk other customers were already there trying to do the same thing. To our dismay they were denied a refund, so we figured we had to stay since we couldnt get our money back. It was absolutely horrible and comletely ruined our vacation..PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. Stay anywhere else in Galveston...it is better to be safe than sorry like my family

this was horrible
By Tiffy, 07/16/07
The AC was out in the hotel & they had no more rooms. All of Galveston was booked, they would not give us a discount on the hotel room & the mosquitos were so big we thought they were roaches. The mosquitos were everywhere. We called it the "Risky Inn." I would strongly recommend you not stay here nor let anyone you know.

The place to stay
By Kiran, 06/20/07
My family and I were skeptical to stay at this motel even when we found out that it was under new ownership and under new management. This place is awesome. They had new furniture, the place so clean, and the staff were so polite. They even helped us plan our vacation. We would recommend this place to everyone. Excellent, Excellent place to stay.

WOW Thank you New Owner
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/07
When we called to give the Harbor View one last chance the new owner told us we wouldn't recognize the place from the summer of 2005. Boy, was he right! The new rooms and I say new because there is new carpet, new beds, new bathroom toilets, new bathroom sinks, new flooring in the kitchen area which now includes new microwave and refrigerator. Everything was painted inside bright refreshing colors and we ended the day in a cool room, great bed watching a brand new wide screen TV. Our last stay they had to search the rooms for a working refrigerator, remote controls (that was a whole comedy sketch trying to find one to fit a tv that was in working order!) and the mystery hole under the sink that we weren't quite sure what lived there......at least it wasn't nocturnal because nothing else we moved during the night (I think). THANK YOU new owner you were right and you and your staff are friendly, helpful and are one of the reasons we will return next year.

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
By stephen, 02/03/07
I've read the other reviews and I can assure you that new management has completely changed the environment as well as the decor of all the rooms. My wife and I are appalled at the past reviews of this newly renovated hotel. The family that now runs this establishment are very courteous, professional, kind and generous people. Please don't punish the new owners by judging reviews that came before they took over. All the rooms have been completely gutted and have new carpet, fresh paint and new furniture. There was not one bug that we ever saw while staying there! Please take a walk-thru before casting any opinions about this wonderful hotel!

What a disgusting dump!
By Susan, 07/07/06
We walked in and I was afraid to let my children touch anything! There was food on the floor, it was filthy, it smelled like urine, and rotting food was left in the fridge. Nothing like the internet pictures! We were going to just drive home but luckily we were able to book another hotel. Even on July 4th! We demanded our money back from the harbor view. They need to level the place.

We hated this Place!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/06
We had booked a room here and it was pretty nasty and dirty. They even had roaches and spiders in the room. We called the front desk to let someone know and there was no ansewer. We went walk up to the office and the door was locked. We even had the toliet over flowed the 1st time we use the restroom. I will never stay or recommend anyone to stay in this type of enviroment ever. I don't see how this place can stay open for business.
