Pier Pointe Resort, Fort Lauderdale

When I called to reserve the $69.00 special, I specifically asked the hotel if the room was poolside (as it was advertised), if the room had a table, and if the air conditioning worked. We had just been through 2 hurricanes and had 2 weeks total of no electricity. We wanted to go somewhere to relax and cool off. What we got was a small room in the corner of the 2nd level, not poolside. The air conditioner was rusted, corroded, and leaked water on the walkway. There was no table. The room was stifling hot and probably not used for days. It didn't cool the room at all. I asked if we could be moved because it didn't work, and the clerk said there were no rooms and he would have maintenance check it in the morning. So we sweated another night. In the morning no one came to check the air conditioner and again I asked for another room. The clerk told us to check about 1pm. We did and all he said was "maintenance will check it." He told us there was no other room. So we didn't stay another night.
This place did not give us the room that was advertised or promised to us.It was not accommodating and didn't seem to care.
