Going down hill fast!
By Jason, 06/18/09
Place used to be a nice place to stay now it just is a over priced, rude young staff ran place! Years ago I had great times staying there, but the last few times very bad and I will not be back again. Mr. king needs to start getting rid of some rude staff fast before it actually turns into the run down Motel that is right next door.

The best hotel In San Luis Obispo
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/09
We have stayed at the Apple Farm for more than 20 years and enjoy it each and every time we stay. We have had a variety of rooms and locations at the Inn including the added on Trellis Court, the main Inn and twice one of the rooms over the Millhouse. While the Trellis Court is smaller, it is decorated the same as the main Inn. You would probably want to be away from the freeway, but we noticed no noise problem. The main Inn rooms have always been clean, spacious and the extra amenities they provided for our anniversary trip last week were very special. If you want an extra special visit, the two rooms over the Millhouse are more money, but very private, with a balcony over the waterfall - almost like a treehouse. Although the Inn is no longer owned by the family that used to run it, we have noticed no change in quality or service. We especially like the afternoon wine reception for guests.

Not worth the price!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/09/08
Having read so many wonderful comments about the AF, I reserved a room for the weekend. I was very disappointed with the location of the room along the freeway. Aside from the continuous traffic noise, the comfort and condition of the room were blah for the price. The original room I was given had broken window and door locks. I requested a 2nd room, which had broken window locks as well. The hotel has an "added on" area that faces the freeway and lacks the charm of the main portion. I felt like I was staying at an OVER PRICED Days Inn.

RUDE STAFF & MANAGMENT
By Shane, 06/26/08
I went on-line to book a honeymoon sweet since I received a gift certificate to apple farm from my mother who has stayed here for over 20 years. No where on their site does it say that their specialty sweet has to be ordered over the phone, it actuall says you can order a king specialty sweet...there is a difference between a specialty sweet with a king and a king specialty sweet. We love lavish in the good life and we refuse to stay in anything less than top notch hotel. So when I called to confirm my reservation they said we made the reservation for the wrong room...we had to call to get the room we wanted, but it doesn't say that anywhere on their site and they name their rooms to confuse people into thinking their room is better, then you get there and you get a tiny room that you didn't want!!! So I called to complain and all I asked for was a sorry note to be on my bed when I came in saying sorry for the inconvience and hope you enjoy your stay...THAT'S IT!!! The hotel manager said that the hotel did nothing wrong and it was my fault for not calling and they will do no such thing, even though I ordered $1000 worth of massages for my wife and I and said I wouldn't return...they said, "we don't feel we did anything wrong so we will do nothing to correct your mistake sir!" When all I asked for was a note to make peace with my wife and I for falsly advertising their rooms...my family and friends will NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN WITH THAT RUDE ATTITUDE AND I DO NOT RECCOMEND ANYONE ELSE STAY AT A HOTEL THAT THINKS THEY ARE TOO GOOD FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS AND THEY DON'T NEED THE BUSINESS THAT BAD WHEN OUR ECONOMY IS IN TROUBLE AND TRAVEL & TOURISM IS DOWN...BAD MOVE APPLE FARM!!!! BAD MOVE!!! WE ARE HIGH ROLLERS AND NOW WE WILL ROLL HIGHER NORTH TO A DIFFERENT HOTEL!! THANKS FOR BENDING OVER BACKWARDS WHEN ALL I ASKED FOR WAS A SORRY NOTE...2 SENTENCES FOR MY BUSINESS TO CONTINUE, HOTELS ELSEWHERE WOULD COMP YOUR ROOM OR MASSAGES OR PROVIDE FREE WINE OR SOMETHING, THEY WON'T EVEN PROVIDE A SORRY NOTE!!! BYE BYE TO MY BUSINESS AND MY FAMILY'S CONTINUED BUSINESS!

A favorite stop
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/12/08
This place is a great stay and has a great restaurant. The services are amazing, and I'm really not sure why some people here say it's poor.

Dissappointing to say the least
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/15/07
We are parents of a Cal Poly student so are in the area quite a bit. We did not like staying at the Apple Farm. We found that it is generally unfriendly and, well, quite a rude staff. We've tried the Embassy Suites in SLO and enjoyed our stay there much more than the Apple Farm, plus at Embassy Suites you get a free buffet breakfast that is fabulous.

Great Breakfast
By DavidT, 10/10/07
I have never stayed there, but I have eaten there for breakfast! Great place to eat even if you are not a guest of the Hotel. The gift shop is great too. I always look forward to Christmas so I can buy a tree ornimant.

i want to go back
By catcarmel, 09/16/07
We went for our anniversary 2006. Stayed in the main hotel. A really cute Laura Ashley room. Knocked on our door and brought us a little anniversary candle and candies. In your room is a wooden apple with a note saying you can keep for your memories and a basket of bottled water... I like everything about the hotel The restaurant has good food, nice to sit outside.

Snobby people
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/31/07
The restaurant is terrible. They always try to set us in the "circus tent" room in the back which is hot and guarantees the sun will be in your eyes. Sometimes the food is okay but waiters/waitresses get an F- for customer service.

restaurant was great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/07
Have never stayed in the motel but we have eaten breakfast here several times while visiting the central coast and it is always a good experience. The potato pancakes are excellent, the service has always been friendy and prompt. Last time we went on a Sunday morning and the wait was realistic, maybe 10 minutes at the most. Portions seem pretty hearty, at least from my experience and we're big eaters. Good coffee.Restrooms were very clean. Cute, country victorian ambiance and a nice gift shop. I'd come back again next time we stay in SLO.
