Bug Infested Bed!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/18/08
My fiance and I stayed at this motel while in Lethbridge. As soon as you entered the room - the smell of mold, must or mildew choked you - this was especially true if the filthy air - conditioner was turned on.
The mini fridge still had icecream and other food items left in it from previous occupants.
We were woken up at 2:15 a.m. by a loud ruckus in the pool. Several women and at leat one man was in the pool screaming, laughing and being extremely loud. It seemed to take forever for security and night staff to get this under control.
After we tried to go back to bed after investigating the noise - we were met with the bed covered in insects. Large beetle type insects and little blood filled dot insects - we can only suspect to be bed bugs or fleas - either way - when they were smacked or swatted - they exploded and the blood that was in them went everywhere.
We got out of there ASAP and due to circumstances beyond our control - we could find no further accomodations for the night. In the end, we missed our medical tests that we drove to Lethbridge for. It's been 2 days since our stay at the Peppertree inn in Lethbridge, Alberta and we STILL can't shake the general ick factor of sleeping in a bug infested bed with bugs that were probably feasting on us while we slept.
Unless you are a bug lover and don't mind them crawling all over you while you sleep - My advice is simple - Do not stay here. It truly was and still is a skin crawling experience.
