Horrific Experience
Recently I had phoned the Fredericton Inn regarding an upcoming anniversary I had with my partner. I had booked the "Executive Queen Suite" at the price of $199 per night. At first request the night time auditor who had answered the phone had accidently booked me into the "Executive Queen" (not suite), this was an honest mistake which I had noticed and phoned back to confirm the correct booking after noticing the price diferencial. So the day arrived where I had reached Fredericton and went to the front desk to confirm my reservation, to which I was surprised to find out that not only was I given a room key to the regular Exacutive Queen room. but also when informing the front desk agent that I had booked the Executive Queen SUITE she had told me "we had a new night time auditor and we had you booked under the regular Deluxe Queen, but we've upgraded you to the Executive Queen at no extra charge. How is it I've been "upgraded" when I asked for a room BETTER than the one they are offering?? Secondly they did not even apologize and continued to show me a piece of paper with writing in pen saying "Deluxe Queen *scratched out* Executive Queen". After unsuccessfully phoning around the city to attempt to book another suite on a moments notice, I went downstairs to cancel my room and be refunded. They gave me my money back without an apology once more and basically let me walk out without even OFFERING to help me out with a taxi, make a phone call, attempt to reconsile the fact that they have messed up my anniversary I had booked with them. If they knew the room had been booked previously or that there would have been a problem, they had over a week to get in touch with me and let me know. Needless to say, I will NEVER stay there again and would not reccomend this hotel to ANYONE who plans to be secure in knowing their room will be available upon arrival. I reccomend the Delta Inn, or the Wandyln for a better nights stay and MUCH better customer service.
