Americana Inn, Shreveport

Used towels and used bar of soap in restroom, no shampoo, dirty sheets(look like a piece of candy stuck to comforter), missing smoke detector, broken switches on lights(goes great with the missing smoke detector) Would not recommend to anyone.

Positives: We got the hotel as part of a great laast minute travel package. We did save lots of money compared with booking a flight alone. The location was convenient. Negatives: The lobby had plywood on the outside-I guess they were in the midst of a remodel. Our room was dirty. The bathroom had stains on the wall and a dirty floor. The door did not close well. The air conditioner did not work well. There were no labels on the thermostat settings. There were wooden boards in the window ledges. They didn't stock the room with Kleenex and we almost ran out of toilet paper.

We had to make an unexpected stop during a recent trip on 2-11-06 we made the reservation over the phone. This place is terrible the add on the internet advertised free continental breakfast this is a false statement , it advertised clean - friendley - remodeled also all false statements , the phone didn't work , the tv remote didn't work , the carpet was nasty got bottoms of socks black definately would not want to walk barefoot in here , dog found crustified pizza under bed , bathroom was nasty , no hot water in sink , bath linens were dirty , shower had mold in it , heater vent had fungus growing in it , when we complained to desk clerk the next morning she became very aggressive and started shouting ,when you get to this nasty place and try to cancel your reservation because it is so terrible they will charge you a $25 cancelation fee , not to mention the cars teating in and out of the parking lot all night long , sure was a lot of traffic in and out at night to be such a small place. I really enjoyed my stay there during my vacation. The service was friendly and down to earth. You dont find that in a hotel alot of times. Also location was perfect for me.

The service was good. The room was clean but the air conditioner fan rattled loudly. There was no remote or tv guide. The commode was about to fall off the pipe. It rocked in all directions and the seat was almost off.
