Ray Motel, Naturita

This place saved my butt in the middle of dark night when I was trying to make it to a buddies house after someone stole all my camping gear. That area on a motorcycle, exhausted and pissed off in the middle of the night is not the place to be riding. Pulled in expecting to get taken to the cleaners and spend the night cuddling with roaches. The rate was below motel average and the room was spotless clean! Not the newest place around but everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. Great coffee in the morning and the desk ladies were fantastic.

The people are wonderful-The manager is extremely helpful and considerate. The motel can use some repairs but in this economy they are doing great.

The girl in the office was wonderful. My husband wasn't feeling well and she was kind enough to tell us she would call a Dr. at anytime, do anything to help. She checked on him a couple of times. She had someone take our laundry and do it. This lady cared about us. I wish I remembered her name. Maybe the place was a little outdated, but it was clean, comfortable and very reasonable. We stayed 2 nights and if my husband had felt better we would have stayed longer.

The owners and employees were very nice, but the room looked like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in years. The A/C had 1/2" of dust on the filter and the bathtub was scary.

the only thing i can say that is negative is that the owner did not seem to have customer service as her priority! the only way my small problem was dealt with was with the office manager! good job,

From the Veritas Group: The place was nice and clean. All of the people were very helpful. The Breakfast Cafe was wonderful. They sold expressos and anythings else you may want. They went out of their way to make us feel at home and this is important in the siesmic business because we are away from home for over 6 weeks at a time. The indoor pool was very relaxing and fun. We can't wait to go back next year.

spring 2006 Have you seen the ray motel latley? my husband works in the oil field in the near by basin and sometimes we have no choice but to stay there, a poster before me described it as bland, this place is extremely forgetable, its not as bad as it used to be but there are very few changes, the service is minimal, the help is pitiful and it is just awful. the employees are young and immature and they have horrible attitudes. They say they have spent a large amount of money remodeling but there is almost nothing diffrent from the previous owners

My family and I stayed at the hotel late January of '06 and we found it to be a very nice hotel. Our room was very clean and we had good maid service. The pool was up and running and the kids spent a good many hours playing in the pool. The hotel is in the center of town and accross the street from a nice restaurant. We had absolutely no problems and we stayed there 3 nights. The more recent reviews on this web site and don't know what they are talking about. When I was in Idaho I stayed at a Motel 6 and that was bad, no comparison to the Ray. Naturita is a long ways out and by reading the above it looks like they have new owners, which is good. The affordability and realizing their location out in the middle of know where should clue anyone in on the fact the new owners couldn't make it into a five star hotel. So, if you can handle a clean little country hotel than I would stay there if I were you. However, if your tastes are over the top, just go to Telluride.

I had stayed here severally years before and it was bad, we almost just packed up and left. I didn't want to stop this time but I was overuled. Boy what a suprise! New owners have taken over and have cleaned it up. They even have to pool going again. We will be staying there again on our next pass through.

Stayed at the Ray In December for the 3rd time every time I stay it gets better the motel is more proffesinal then ever you can realy saee the changes every time I come Back the pool is up the rooms are looking very nice and the help is unbeilevable this place was a joke but now I would recomend staying here
