Absolutly loved it!
By Kala, 9/11/10
I absolutly LOVED the Tiny Town cottages. It was very well kept and lovely to be in. The view of the mountains every morning and everytime you walked out the door really hit me. Also, having the Big Thompson right in your back yard was wonderful. I especially loved the little tables and benches everywhere to just sit down and enjoy your vacation. I would deffinatly go back, and I'm hoping I can soon.

Very sad and disappointed....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/17/10
We have been staying at Tiny Town for over 30 years. It was owned by a family until a few years ago when it was purchased by Trout Haven. The cabins were never fancy, but were always neat, clean and well stocked. This was our first visit since the family sold Tiny Town. The cabins were run by a husband and wife who took great pride in keeping the place in good shape. It was such a disappointment to see what has happened to these cabins since Trout Haven has taken them over. The first thing we noticed was that there is now a tree that has practically grown through the roof of our cabin. It is pushing the roof away from the base of the cabin. All it would take was a little pruning to take care of something that will destroy the cabin if let go. The furnishings in the cabin are the same they have been for over 25 years. It sure could stand a refurbishing. We have cooked many meals for our family in the years we have stayed there. Not time time! The fridge was not clean. There was sticky stuff all over the shelves and there were bags of something (?) left in the freezer. I did not open them to see what was in them. The drawer containing the silverware was not clean either. It made us uneasy and we washed each piece of flatware before we used it. I did use the toaster once and it burned the bread on one side while doing nothing to the other side. There used to be an abundance of plates, glasses and cooking utensils. The place is now very poorly stocked with these things. Over all, I was very unhappy with the cleanliness of the cabin. As I said before, it was alway very basic in the past, but I always felt that it was as clean as it could be. On this trip, the tops of the tables were dusted, but the shelves and legs were so covered in dust that you could write your initials. It was like someone gave the tops a quick dusting, but did not go to any trouble to really clean further. I put something on a window will only to find that the sill was thick with dust as was the mantle of the fireplace. There were no bedside tables in the bedroom. I picked up a small table in the living room to use beside the bed. The top of the table came off in my hands and the bottom fell to the floor. The temperature got below freezing during our stay. There is only one wall heater in the cabin in the living room. The bedroom, kitchen and bathroom were absolutely freezing cold until the sun came up and warmed the place. There was only one tiny roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and no soap. We made a trip to the corner store before we settled in. We talked to some of the previous owners of these cabins during our stay. They say that the new owners basically are just going through the motions of trying to keep these older cabins open until the economy improves then they intend to tear them down and build more modern structures. The location along the river very near to the park entrance is good. There is a lot of acreage around these cabins. If they do tear them down, I am sure they will build many more than they now have and I guess it will be more profitable. We have so many wonderful family memories from our stays at Tiny Town. It is a shame that the new owners are not even trying to do a decent job of upkeep until they rebuild. It was so sad to have to tell our friends and relatives that the place had changed so much.

Off To A Rocky Start
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/09
My husband and I just got back from a two-day stay at the cottages in Tiny Town (now part of Trout Haven.) We've stayed there again and again and were looking forward to another hunk of bliss that the Cottages provide. Sadly, when we got arrived, we were locked out of our cabin for almost an hour and my temperature started to rise. Finally soothed by the manager, Kaye's, presentation of our missing keys, free fire wood and a nice reduction in our bill, all is forgiven and I'm back to being one of their major promoters. If you're looking for "fancy" head on down the road, but for a quaint, clean, charming slice of Americana, it can't be beat. There's a great ribs and beer joint right down the road that fits the bill perfectly after a long hike!

We can't wait to go back!!!
By Melissa, 4/3/09
I loved everything about it. The serenity and solitude around us, the smell of pine and the sound of the river roaring by. It was a great experience and the owners are from Nebraska! I would give anything to move out there. Hope to return in July for our 5 year anniversary.

We will return many times I am sure!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/29/07
One of the most beautiful places on the face of the earth. These cottages are quaint, clean, next to the entry into the Rocky Mountains National Park and a babbling brook runs through the back! Clean! Great service! Firewood delivered on the porch daily!

What a nice place
By Kim, 9/19/06
We only got to stay for a night, but it was great experience. The location to town was close enough for convience but in a location that made you feel that you were in the middle of no where. The room was clean and made you feel right at home. Kitchen was fully furnished with everthing we needed. The fireplace was a very nice touch to have in the room. We will definatly be back. Thanks so much to everyone who puts in hard work so people have such a pleasant vacation.

Ideal cabin stay in mountains
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/14/06
The cabins are very cute & well-maintained. They offer everything you'd need & more. The staff & owners are very courteous & hospitable. It's fun to walk up & play minature golf - been doing it for many years. Our only dislike is that they don't allow more than 2 ppl per cabin - not convenient for small families or an adult who would like to stay for a day w/ us.

Rustic and Nice
By Stephen, 8/19/04
I'm surprised no one else has placed a review for this fine set of cabins. Yes, they were built in the 1930s and to some would appear to be a bit shabby. They would be wrong though as they are clean and comfortable with nice kitchens and remodeled bathrooms. The string of cabins sit along the Thompson River and have a lot of lawn in the other direction. The fireplace has plenty of furnished wood. The beds are comfortable. The cabins are charming and quiet as they are several feet apart. A fine value for the price.
