Sunset View Resort, Ocean Park

Our family reunion group had a great time here, but I must admit, the rooms need some help. With some updating and a better housekeeping staff, this place could be 5 stars! We enjoyed the grounds, with the volleyball area, kids playground and beautiful BBQ area.

My husband and I had not been there for a number of years. It was very disappointing. Very basic and the decor is very outdated. It needs a complete remodel. The bed was very small and the hide a bed for my daughter was awful. Was told it was ocean view and could barely see it.

Nice staff. Beautiful grounds/landscaping. The beach was wonderful! The rooms were awful! We switched rooms upon arrival -- our original room was run down, sparsely furnished, old worn chair, filthy window, view of the parking lot. The staff willingly gave us a room that overlooked the grounds. The location of the room was better... but that was about it! It wasn't very clean, looked like something from the '60's, no screens on the windows, cobwebs, etc. We had an adjoining room and heard everything that neighbor had to say. We received no maid service over the 2 days that we stayed there. This is NOT the "Finest Family Accommodations on the Peninsula" and if it is... we're all in trouble!

We go to the beach a lot a have been going to the sunset view resort for years. We love it there. this is the place to go if you want a quiet weekend away. The grounds are beautifully done. You are close to all the sights and sounds. but the resort its self is just far enough to let you relax. they have so much to do there for the kids they had a play ground for are younger two and basket ball and volleyball, and a lot we could do as a family we didnt even have to leave to have a good time. we stay about 4 times a year it's a wonderful place to go as a family or a special get away For the two of us.

My family and I stayed at sunset view resort this summer (2006) and I loved it! They had a lot of fun games and activities out back and big parts of grassy areas for us to play in maybe tag or croque. They had a basketball hoop there which was really cool and I didn't have to bring my own basketball because they provide them right behind the desk for their guests to check-out and use. they also have a tennis court, volley ball layout and a playground for the younger ones. a huge sandpit is right outside of the playground!!! I encourage you to come and stay here located in ocean park WA. p.s the hot tubs were also a hit being that there were 2!!

I loved this place!! The rooms are older but they are nice! They have so much for you to do with out having to leave the resort. Volleyball, tennis, basketball, horseshoes, a playground for the little ones, bar-b-q pits and picnic tables, hot tubs, and a beautiful view of the ocean! and did i mention our dog was able to come too! It was a great weekend

I found this place very pleasent. Clean & Comfortable with a Park setting. Very beautiful grounds, just a skip to the Ocean and an extremley freindly staff. You just can't beat the serenity of a cozy fire and a cool ocean breeze!! I can't wait till I get to go back there.

Friendly & flexible staff; plenty to do at the on-site facilities (hot tub/sauna, BBQ grills and picnic tables, fire-pit, volleyball/tetherball/raquetball, playground, beach access); kitchenettes made eating much more affordable. Meeting room perfect for multi-family games and dinners. A little older than some, but much more charming. Just remember to bring your own shampoo. Inexplicably, it is not provided even though soap is.

My fiance has stayed there off and on for many years, and the place has gone down hill. I can't believe they charge so much for such an outdated, unsafe place! We turned the heater on, and the sofa was pushed up against the heater..so we pulled it away, and there was a newspaper, and a pillowcase laying on the heater! Good thing we looked! I wanted to leave! The faucet in the bathroom leaked, old, outdated furniture, dirty pans in the cupboard. We won't be coming back, that's for sure. One of the stairs outside was ripped out and just boarded up...doesn't appear they put much money into the place at all.

The resort on the outside is very pretty but the rooms are in ill repair and whoever does the cleaning does not know how to clean. The windows were full of bugs and the bathroom had mold growing in it. The refrigerator and microwave still had old food in them from the last people. The furniture all needs replacing as well as the beds. The amount they charge per night is way out of reason for the condition of the rooms. I would not recommend this resort.
