Good place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/14/07
I love this hotel. We selected this because it claimed to be the only ski in/ski out hotel at Schweitzer. While it is the closest hotel to the mountain, it is located right on the slopes, its not actually ski in/ski out because there is no "back" door access, and you have to go right through the village. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The furniture in our room was pine and very nice. I found the room much more comfortable than many more expensive hotels, but not as elegant as the traditional ultra luxury brands. The only major complaint I have is that when booking we were assured that there would be food available when we arrived and that they would keep the pool and hot tubs open until midnight for us. We arrived much earlier than expected but found nothing to eat in the whole village other than microwave burritos and the pool was closed. No matter, we snuck outside and enjoyed the hot tub anyway. Speaking of the pool and hot tubs, they are built into the side of the hill, and are free from gawkers in other properties; flawlessly executed!

Very admirable location

This resort is located at a hillside up in Schweitzer mountain, Sandpoint ID. The drive all the way to the resort was very pretty. They have lots of activies for children and adults and I was able to let my 5 y/o play by himself and with other children at the lawn, not worried he might get lost. The resort room was very spacious and clean, no odor at bathroom and yes, I love the way they use "Bath and Body Works" products for their washroom/guestroom. The bed and hideaway sofabed was great after a very long day, very comfy, plenty of space and lots of comfy pillows. Loved the pool and 4 hot tubs. The staff at activity center were very helpful and accommodating. Just loved it when we're on top of the mountain resort via the ski lift, that we coud see the entire town of Sandpoint and Lake Pend Orielle. The shops and deli/pub were steps away but also had lots of dining options in town which is about 9 miles from the resort.
