Nice hotel for the price!
I chose the Imperial Suites for our vacation last year (July 2007), after reading reviews on this site, and others, and it was a very nice hotel, we have no big complaints. Sure, it's not brand new, but it was very clean. We asked for non-smoking, and we got it (we booked several months in advance and were on the top floor), and the family suite worked out perfectly - our daughter could go to bed in her own "room" (so to speak), and we were able to stay up and plan our next day. The staff was very nice, and the pool was clean, and just the right size to keep an eye on the kids. My father stayed next door to us, in a junior suite, and his room was even cleaner than ours - very nice.
Our only minor complaint was to watch the parking charge - although we had two rooms, we only had one car, but they charged us the $5 a day for both rooms. I should have checked that first but didn't think of it. But, having our car right there at the hotel was so convenient (I'd read reviews that the valet service at the "higher end" hotels was horrible).
This was our first trip to Canada, and one suggestion I have - make sure you convert your cash - they will take your U.S. money but give you Candadian money in exchange (which isn't that bad a deal, but slightly less than you should get - at least in 2007). But overall, we had a wonderful time, and we will stay at Imperial Suites again when we visit Niagara Falls!!
