Crown Hotel, Rotterdam

The room was nice and breakfast too. And the cleaning staff was really kind. In opposition to that receptionists were really bad. They were always absent surfing on the net and laughing inside and not available for customers. We arrived and we were assigned to a room that hadn t been cleaned and it was almost 5 pm. Then they gave us another room. All rooms have electric kettles to warm up water for tea. We wanted to use it to heat water for our 2 months old baby but it didn t work. Once again I had to go to the reception and get another one. But this one had rust inside and we only found out as we were feeding the baby, as there was rust inside his bottle. After that I spoke to one of the cleaning ladies and she was really nice. After explaining our problem she handled the situation herself and this time it worked. The last day we asked for wake up call and they forgot. After half an hour Mirjam called and made some kind of excuse for her forgetfulness and when I asked what happened she said "It s personal". So these were the receptionist staff in a hotel that without that kind of behavior would be much better. I would advise the owners to review who they have there working.

I arrived at hotel relatively late - given room key - opened room - someone was in room. Received new room key - room was small single bed - I literally could touch both walls if I spread my arms. I was so tired I could not be bothered to complain - but checked my reservation details in the morning. I confirmed that I had booked a deluxe room with double bed on Best Western website. I asked hotel to confirm what I had booked - yes, docuble bed, deluxe - OK sorry = free cup of coffee ;-(( Hotel looks tired, definitely not 4* - roooms are worst I've stayed in - even for a single room. Corridors are poorly decorated and not very clean. Avoid if possible.
