Red Carpet Inn Charlottesville, Charlottesville

The rooms were newly remodeled, clean and attractive. The Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. I liked that the Hotel is all ground floor and that I could park in front of my room. I also appreciated the free wireless internet. This Hotel was a great price and they have a checkout time one hour later than the other Hotels in Charlottesville. In short it was a very nice place to stay. I highly recommend this Inn.

This place was disgusting. Roaches (dead and alive), cigarette butts in bathtub, dust webs and filth everywhere. We didn't know it was UVA homecoming & came up for the night with 2 kids to pick apples the next day--next time we would sleep in our van. A friend was checking online & found no vacancies in town and we happen to see a vacancy light at this hotel. We were charged $97.00 & after complaining the next day said there would be a $20 discount, but my sister noticed online today that the discount was not done. There were 6 dead roaches in one drawer and a couple we killed; later one crawled across the floor as we watched TV with all the lights on; then one was crawling up the wall behind the TV; cigarette butts were in our tub when we checked in and long dust webs galore hanging from the vanity and bedroom area; bathroom floors and bathroom itself just nasty looking--we bought lysol & cleaned just to take a shower. We put everything in the refrigerator and in our car overnight, to make sure bugs didn't get in anything and slept on top of the bedspread with our own blankets because of the uncleanliness. Needless to say, I was awake at 4:00 watching out for bugs & didn't get any rest.

We were directed to the Red Carpet Inn on a stormy night because they would take pets. We had our cat with us. Well, after spending the night there with torn carpets, peanuts on the floor and a general scuzzy feel, we got to NY and found fleas on our cat. An infestation. This was room 313.

My family and I stayed there last year on the night before my Daddy died at the University of Virginia Medical Center. The staff were so understanding and supportive. The accomodations were among some of the best that we had stayed in during our many weeks in Charlottesville. We had stayed at the Holiday Inn, Days Inn, Red Roof Inn, Super 8, and Econo Lodge, but found that the Red Carpet Inn provided clean, comfortable, and affordable lodging for us, as well as, the support and understanding that was needed during that difficult time in our lives.
