Only Average - I Don't Recommend This Hotel

The location was convenient for access onto the interstate. The staff was very nice and helpful with the exception of housekeeping pounding on the door at 9 a.m. to see when we were going to checkout. The room itself was clean but just okay - not what I expect from a Hampton Inn and certainly not worth the price. The A/C was controlled from the wall, but the actual unit was an old-style window unit that smelled very musty except when the compressor was running. We had to keep the thermostat set on 65 degrees to keep the smell from being overwhelming. The room was an accessible room but I don't see how someone in a wheelchair could have maneuvered in the bathroom because it was very tiny. I would not stay here again.

Always a great stay

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times visiting the Mountains. One word, Awesome. The breakfast lady is really a charmer, we don't visit that often but she recognized us and always acts like we just saw her yesterday. If in the area definitely don't pass up this Hampton Inn. I am active military and they just seem to take care of us.

definitely needs new carpet on the 4th floor

we had stayed at this hotel around 5 years ago and loved it. it looks great outside and by the lobby but when you get off the elevator on the 4th floor it smelled terrible. got our room 421 and it smelled like someone cleaned the floor with soured mop water. we got febreeze from the hotel clerk and sprayed all the tile and carpet. it seemed to help. would definitely not stay here again. changed the way i looked at hampton inn.

Hampton Peabody Place

Just love this hotel. Location fabulous for downtown Memphis. Staff truly represents Southern Hospitality. What a WOW!!! The Red Bird Stadium AAA baseball is just a hop away. There is a great little mall we went to when it was raining with a huge and great movie selection plus indoor bowling! My spouse and I enjoyed time on Beale Street listening to Ruby at BB King's. I like the Corky's barbeque which is about a 15 minute drive. The kids loved riding the train around downtown and the view of the Mississippi River. The breakfast is part of the hotel room price so that made it nice and easy for the family. We also tried the Memphis barbeque festival.

Very friendly staff, always glad to see me, and helpful when ever needed. Breakfast is good, beds are great.Fast and free internet connection a plus.
