Very Disappointed

I booked a weekend here for a soccer tournament which was only 1 day. Had plans of staying Saturday evening so the girls could relax after playing in the heat all day. Upon returning to the hotel, with the hopes of cooling off in the pool,we were informed the pool would be closed for the rest of the day for safety reasons. We were not compensated in any way for this major inconvenience.

Fantastic experience

Pros: Beautiful property far from congested roads. Very quiet, great soundproofing. Located right off the I-95. Efficient staff. Wonderfully decorated & spacious rooms with new furnishings. Warm bar. Downtown Boston less than an hour away. Cons: Small pool area; 3ft whirlpool was only half full. Poor service in restaurant. No alternative eateries within walking distance. Tip: Avoid Bald Hill Road, especially during the day. Expect several lights and long delays with never-ending stop-and-go traffic at 5 mph. It took half an hour to reach the nearest supermarket (Shaw- 2 miles from the hotel).

Fabulous

This is a fabulous hotel, in a great location with very professional and accomodating staff. Just outside of Providence and the T.F. green airport, it is perfectly placed! The public areas and meeting spaces are great for groups. Amenities abound. The rooms (esp. beds) are very comfy! Will definitely be back!

Great visit

Rooms very clean and comfortable. Location is great for airport and visits to Providence and Newport. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Only slight negative was dinner in the hotel restaurant - food is average at best.

Dissapointed

Recently attended a wedding.. cocktail hour was like a zoo. Crammed into a small box of a room with 1 bartender for about 140 people. Main course was served at 10 pm for a dinner that started at 7:30 pm. Waitstaff was rude and did not handle the situation of the late entree very well,did not show any professionalism. Maybe there was just too much going on that night, 5 weddings to be exact . Anyhow I would not reccomend the Crowne Plaza unless you book the Grand Ballroom, seems that is the room that gets all the attention. Who knows they could have been dissapointed too .

met all needs

Great hotel, just outside of Providence. Very close to day trip to Newport or URI. Stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a wedding there. Food was great, and so was the staff. The bar downstairs was very nice. Room service was good. The rooms were larger than average and have upscale amenities like CD player, lavendar pillow spritz and sleep CD. Large vanity area in bathroom too. The staff that accomodated the wedding was wonderful. Very professional and upbeat. The rooms where the wedding, ceremony and brunch were held were beautiful. One negative: the fitness room needs to be updated... most equipment was broken or old.

This place is perfect - I've held several meetings and conferences there - GOOD STUFF! Naturally, MY daughter wants to get married in a non-traditional setting.
