Riessersee Hotel Garmisch, Garmisch-Partenkirchen

The location is convenient away from the traffic of town yet easy to get around. The view was fantastic, the rooms and facilities were fantastic. The bar was a great place to relax, enjoy a bier and watch sporting events on a giant screen tv. The front desk staff was very helpful with advice on what to do and how to get there. Food was great !

The Riessersee was the perfect place to end our day after being at the Zugspitze. The room with its balcony views of the snow capped mountains was relaxing and exciting at the same time. The dinner in the main dining area took a lot longer than we anticipated, but the food was fabulous. The breakfast buffet which was included in our room rate was first class. The walk around the lake after breakfast was beautiful. It was a five minute drive to the center of Garmish to walk around the picturesque town. The flowers were amazing and the paintings on the buildings were unlike anything we'd ever seen before. We have hundreds of pictures of our two day visit. It is definitely a destination for anyone who loves mountain scenery combined with the prairie calmness of grazing cattle. The road leading up to the hotel had a field with numerous cows grazing. Stop and open your car window. The cow bells ringing were a sound I'd never heard before. It was truly music to my ears.

The rooms are clean and cozy. Everything is conveniently located around the hotel. The pool and jacuzzi are awesome and a lot of fun! I was surprised to even find a meditation room. Room service is excellent and fast.

The hotel has great people working there. The location is excellent and the accomodations are superb. The lobby is great with the giant fireplace. The food is always the best. We have brought friends and family from the states here and they loved it.

Wonderful Hotel on Riessersee where the ice skating champions were held in the 1937 Winter Olympics. Removed from the hub bub of Central Garmisch but super close with breathtaking views. Only flaw was I was unable to get an iron from the staff when I needed one. Other than that everything was wonderful. The restaurant on site is also marvelous although a little bit pricey. They have a wonderful wild meats menu (I had the wild boar) and an excellent buffett. The staff was super friendly and all spoke english. The spa (although I didn't use it) looked wonderful and they have internet in each room (although it's very pricey).

The hotel is situated on a mountain right next to a lake. You can easly travel anywhere in Garmisch from this hotel. The resturantant in this hotel is top notch. The food and serivce was excellent and rivals most 5 star resturnants in Germany. At first i thought the resurant would be like most in hotels, expensive and not good food. To my surpise it was not. I ate there 4 times and did not notice one bad thing the whole time. I recommend this hotel to anyone, but exspesaiclly the resturant. . The spa is nice and and my overall hotel experience, was good. I rate this hotel as 3 1/2 for the rooms (which were not bad at all) And overall a 4 star.
