Riverstone Lodge, Townsend

We were headed to Cades Cove for a few days and wanted a quiet place to stay. We found Riverstone Lodge in Townsend, TN. on line. Belinda and Terry, the owners, listened to our needs and put us in a very nice downstairs room. The grounds were very nice and included a campfire each night. It was so relaxing to sit in rocking chairs by the campfire and visit with other guests. The Riverstone Family Restaurant next door had excellent service and food. I even asked to speak to the cook because of the quality of the food. This lodge is very close to the entrance of Cades Cove and we enjoyed not having to go through all the traffic of the congested side of the mountain. Townsend is truly the quiet side of the mountain and such a joy to visit. We will be back soon. Thank you Belinda and Terry

This was a very nice place to stay. Terry and Belinda were both very friendly and really helpful. The room was very clean and everything was very well taken care of. The pool was wonderful! There is a convenience store within walking distance, several restaurants and a grocery store close by. They also have a campfire every night, which added to the family friendly atmosphere! We would not hesitate to stay again!

Great place nice and friendly atmosphere! Jerry lit the fire for us even though he wasn't full up and bad weather to boot! We used the discount at the eatery next door, and was miserable(to much food!), then went and sat around the fire and planned the trip into Cades Cove the next day. Saw lots of wildlife but no Bears! Then home again to the cozy fire and good food. Will be staying here again later this year!

We stayed about a month ago, and loved it!!! The rooms were clean, the staff was very nice and we really loved the atmosphere, had dinner @ the restaurant next door....yummy!!! and are planning on going back this month!!!!! This is the place to stay if you want to keep away from the commercial part of the smokies...it is just a short drive to anywhere we wanted to go , Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge & such, but at a totally different pace. This was the non tourist side of the mountains, and we LOVED IT!!!!

I loved this place! We had a gas leak at our house on Saturday evening, January 29, and we were looking for somewhere close to home. I found Riverstone Lodge and called them and got a great rate and boy oh boy the friendliest down-home service EVER! These people are AWESOME! I can't wait to come back up to Townsend (but I live only 35 minutes away anyway!) and stay there or at least go VISIT THEM! Our room was very clean - it smelled GREAT ! There were two beds and a nice TV and a microwave and a refrigerator. The bathroom was very clean - everything was very clean and it was larger and laid out much differently from a typical motel room. I can't wait to go back! They made us feel so welcomed and at home. Great place, great value, wonderful people! We ususally stay in Pigeon Forge, but were looking for something different. We also wanted some place closer to Cades Cove, which is our favorite place in the park. I don't think we will ever stay in Pigeon Forge again. We will not think twice about making another reservation at the Riverstone Lodge.

We just got back from our vacation and after spending many different nights at many different motels around the park I must say this was the BEST!!! Everything here is just SO relaxing! We have been to Riverstone before and each time it just gets better! Terry and Belinda are the best! They make us feel each time that they have known us for years! We love the campfires and the porch with those great rockers!!! Very clean and cozy! It's a great place to stay and would highly recommend!

We have been to Riverstone Lodge several times. We just returned from our vacation trip to the Smokies. If you are looking for a place to relax and feel at home, please go to Riverstone Lodge. Oops, I just gave our secret hide-away away. That's o.k. We book ours in advance. Annie's place is a cool place to stay. The back porch deck, overlooking the running stream in back, gives such a peaceful feeling. We enjoyed the campfire Sat. night with the music and singing. Belinda and Terry are very down to earth people who treat everyone with such respect. They are friendly and make you feel at home. We will definetely be going back there. We loved our stay at Riverstone Lodge. The owners were friendly & went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Bluegrass music on the deck around the fire on Saturday night was great. Nice clean room, beautiful grounds, clean pool and excellent food at the restaurant next door. Price was very fair. We will be back to Townsend & we will be staying at Riverstone Lodge again.

Cleanest room I ever seen. Family atmosphere. Great swimming pool. The nightly fire and Fri & Sat night music was so nice. We could not have asked for a more accommodating family than Terry & Belinda. The Riverstone Lodge is a gem in Townsend. We will be back. Thank you for such a nice place. We loved it.
