Inn on Carleton, Portland

Unfortunately, this place was so deplorable, I had to leave after the first night of a three night reservation. What once may have been nice, sure took a nose dive and was one of the filthiest and smelliest places I have ever stayed. The owner was extremly rude and sarcastic, the place was stiffling hot with no air conditioning, except in the bed room. The bathroom had a funny odor which burned my eyes. In addition, the owner has two cats which I was allergic to, and which was never mentioned on the website. The cats had free rein of the kitchen, including the counters where there was food, and to top it all off, there were fruitflies flying around the kitchen and on the fruit. I left before breakfast the next day and had to report the disgusting conditions to the Health Department!
