What a great place to stay
By Glenn, 09/13/09
The Black Friar Inn was a great place to stay in Bar Harbor. The extra benefit of a full service menu breakfast is included in the room, plus there's a pub on site for the nightcap before bed. The rooms are nice and clean and staff is the most friendly cast of characters. The next time i'm in Bar Harbor i'll be staying there again!

Best Place to Stay
By Shannon McFarland, 05/17/05
The Black Friar is our all time favorite bed and breakfast. It is tucked on a side street a few blocks from downtown. It is quiet even during peak season but is close enough to walk to everything. The hosts serve a beautiful and delicious breakfast and know just about everything there is to know about the island. They are pretty familiar with the nearby mainland too. The inn is beautifully decorated with Sharon's impecable touch and Perry can tell you the best place and time for any vacation event immaginable. You will definitly feel spoiled when you leave this b&b. We are from Mississippi where many a plantation has been turned into a luxury b&b, the Black Friar definitly measures up!
