Garden State Motor Lodge, Union

Okay, I can't complain about poor facilities at this price -- but I can complain that you can't get any sleep there. There are some real low-lifes who live there or visit. About midnight my next-door-neighbor came up, immediately pumped up the music to the max, which went on past 2 .a.m. Meanwhile, more low-lifes were in cars just outside my door blasting music and intermittently honking their horns. It went on till almost 3 a.m. I can tell you I'll never go back there again! (P.S. There was a police squad car there in the evening until about 10 p.m., watching for trouble.) A word to the wise!

The Garden STate Motor Lodge has come a longggg way! The rooms are in better condition and you actually can smell the cleanliness once you walk in the rooms. They have theme rooms now which are extremely nice. The sheets and towels are softer than before and I always see the housekeepers cleaning the rooms. I have to give props where props are due... Great Job Garden State.. keep up the good work.

When I want to get away from the kids and just spend some quiet and alone time with my husband, I go to Garden State Motor Lodge. This Motel is located on Route 22 in Union. You have easy access to restaurants and some places deliver. Their staff is very courteous and helpful. They will explain the variety of rooms that they have. They have so many choices like economy, queen, bliss, kind, king suite. They offer rooms for short stays or overnight with rates that can not be beat. I usually get king size room because it is very comfortable and nice. This time i choose to spend my night in bliss because it has mirrors on the wall and i wanted to try something different. I also liked bliss room because it is very private. When you come and see it you will know what i mean. Their rooms are newly renovated and nicely decorated. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends. You can find something that is just right for you.

I would refer others if a short stay is what you are looking for. If someone is on foot they can just walk up in there though. The locks on the door need to be updated. But if you are just looking for a short stay they have rooms that start at $30 on up depending on your needs. Overnight is not an option at this place for me. Overall, it just depends on what your needs are and what you prefer.

WELL I WILL TELL YOU ME AND MY FRIEND SPEND 2 NIGHT AT THE MOTEL AND I FIND IT OK AND CHEAP.IT WAS VERY CLEAL AND PRIVATE.I WILL ALL STAY AT THE GARDEN STATE MOTEL.

I think this hotel mainly exists for short stays; I really can't see why anyone would choose to actually SLEEP here. The rooms are dumpy and run-down, but clean enough not to be gross. I never saw bugs or actual dirt, but there are many stains and cigarette burns. The doors have key locks, not the swipe-card type entries that you really need for security. In order to drive in or out of the parking lot, you need a special card that will open the gate. However, anyone on foot can just walk in. This motel is not in the best area, and there is really no security of any kind. That said, as a woman, I would NOT want to stay alone in this motel. The rates are around $40 for a short stay and $75 - $100 for a night. For that amount of money, there are other motels and hotels in the area that are cleaner, safer, and more pleasant in every respect.

it's a dump! cheap short stay if you are into that sort of thing. I wouldn't stay there overnight. The bathrooms are small and run down, as are most of the rooms.
