Nestled in the heart of historic downtown, the hotel offers a country inn ambiance with a city convenience. This upscale boutique hotel is still small enough where they care about every guest.

I couldn't wait to leave here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/12/09
Hotel smelled musty when I entered. Front desk is not staffed - you have to call to have a clerk appear; No phone in the room - it had been stolen; room was clean but hot - at least 75 degrees with no way to turn the heat down or A/C on; No extra security lock on the room door; Asked the clerk about a shuttle to the airport. He gave me a number and said I would have to call myself. The number I was given had been disconnected; I had to eat across the street at the Double Tree Hotel. I also had to print out my airline boarding pass at the Double Tree - couldn't find a place to do it within the Brandywine and there was no one around to ask. I could go on and on. Just as I was leaving, they locked the front door so no one could enter. This was at 10:30 AM. I don't know why but it was probably for the better for any potential incoming guests. I would not stay here again even if it was free !!!

No heat, no satisfaction!
By Robert C, 09/27/08
Stayed a couple of nights without heat. The first night was just a little chilly; the desk said they were fixing the system. The second got really, really cold! I was given a space heater that was noisy. Upon checkout the desk said my bill would be adjjusted. I have yet to receive any credit.

This place is a disgusting!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/08
Assigned room was dirty, was changed to another OCCUPIED ROOM! I was told by the front desk that the owner was at the hotel and that I should complain to him. The representative added "just look for the little indian guy in the restaurant" (very inapropiate comment). I found the owner, who was obviously intoxicated. He introdue himself as Dr. Ghanti or Gandi, anyhow all he offer was to take me on a tour of the hotel and was flirting with me. I will NEVER return and will NOT RECOMMEND to anyone

awful
By Jennifer, 05/13/08
Wrongfully, charged card after promising not to causing great inconvenience and charges from bank. Tried to resolve issue with manager and then with owner. After my fourth inquiry on the issue it was somewhat resolved but definitely not to my satisfaction. Did not seem to phase the owner that his employees were grossly incompetent.

Poor service
By Michelle, 05/05/08
This hotel is fine for a short leisure stay, but I would not recommend it to business travelers. Also, you should note that they tack on fees without prior warning at the end of your stay.

HOtel with History, comfort and value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/07
My recent stay at Brandywine Suite Hotel was great. Everything has been totally renovated and tastefully decoated. Since the review in question here was an old and outdated, I feel an updated information would be more helpful to business travelers like me. Based on the review I did not want to stay in this hotel but there were no rooms available elsewhere. This hotel is a Historical European style Boutique hotel with lot of charm and history. My suite had two large rooms with an large bathroom . Everything in the room is brand new and smelled nice and clean. The bed was heavenly. I had my parking ticket validated and even had a lovely dinner at the Squires pub located in the hotel. The lobby is wonderful with a cheerful Atrium. I seldom write review, but in this case my stay and experience was so great totally different from what it was written , I felt compelled to give you all an update. I give an A+ and an almost a perfect place to stay. Thank you Linda

Too much to put up with
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/25/07
Pro: it has a nice central location - an easy walk to the Opera House Con: It has no parking Pro: There is a parking lot across the street Con: They don't validate parking Pro: There are elevators Con: The elevators don't work Pro: The personnel seemed nice Con: They lost my reservation Pro: I had a copy of my reservation so they honored it. Con: The room they gave me had no heat (it was 20 degrees outside) Pro: Except for no heat, the room was acceptable Con: I'm now arguing with them over the overcharge on my credit card bill

Ike - Delaware !! Outstanding !!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/05
It gives me great pleasure to share my personal experience while staying in this Great Hotel. It's richly furnished at a tremendous value. Please; Please; Please, don't be fooled by it's small exterior front. The Brandywine Suites Hotel provides absolutely Superior Quality and Service, and Chief Pierre prepares without question the best food you'll ever eat. After enjoying his food and this Hotel, I will never settle for less. Stop falling victim to the over priced less quality and often advertised but can't deliver Hotels and treat yourself to a royal stay at the Brandywine Suites.
