we will never go back!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/18/09
Its old and run down. my experience was the worst. my room was tiny, no parking, the remote for tv didnt work, and worst of all NO HOT WATER. The staff told me we get free breakfast in the morning. (its free cause u have to MAKE IT YOURSELF).Will never go back. And for those who are thinking about you shoud consider a someplace else.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/17/09
Having booked on the internet, I had no idea of the standard of this hotel or its location as I have not been to Boston for many years. However, when I emailed them with a few questions, I received prompt replies and helpful directions. When I arrived I was greeted cheerfully and discovered that the hotel was in the area I wanted to be, near Boston Common and in the Theatre District. The staff were most helpful and printed out numerous maps to show me how to get to all the places I wanted to see. The breakfast described as Continental, was more than sufficient with good choices and the staff even made waffles for me as I did not know how to work the waffle maker myself.Although I only stayed three nights I was sorry to leave and would unhesitatingly stay there if I visit Boston again. Blue Man Group, Ice Cream and a Night at the Milner
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/19/08
Knowing that the sun was setting on my chances i quickly checked into The Milner, which provided the perfect night cap for my tired Boston legs. They were more than accommodating to my last minute needs. Its convenient location and reasonable prices appealed to me. And the hotel went beyond all of my expectations. I will always remember my night at the Milner.

I loved this hotel!
By TerryH, 5/13/08
I just spent 5 nights at the Milner in Boston; yes it is an old building but it has a wonderful atmosphere. The cozy breakfast area is chock full of great food; even a Belgian waffle maker. Sheena & Jackie at the front desk were very helpful and kind. My room was clean and quiet. Close proximity to the Trolleys, subway and great restaurants & theaters made it perfect for a female traveling alone. I will definitely stay there again!

Milner - My Boston Marathon Home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/25/08
If you are in town for the Marathon, the Milner can't be beat. -Yes, the rooms are small, and -yes, you should get a name when you confirm your reservation, and -yes you should ask for a room on the south end of the hotel on nights when the Blue Man Group is playing next door in the Charles Playhouse (unless you really like the Blue Man Group); BUT the continental Breakfast they serve sends you out to Hopkinton well-fed (self-serve fresh cooked waffles), -and the staff is very friendly and helpful (if you treat them with respect). - The rooms I have stayed in have always been clean, and you meet runners from Europe, South America, and Asia who appreciate a bargain. Believe me, there is no sight so welcome as the Milner, just a short crawl from the finish line, after the race.

Just got back from 2 nights at Milner
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/7/07
I was nervous about this hotel from all the negative reviews I read about it, but I came away thinking it was not too horrible. I've stayed in worse places. The location was the best feature. I found that the front desk staff, with the exception of one person, were lethargic and emotionless. I could have been talking to wooden statues. The room I had was ok for one person and it did have cable, and for the most part it seem fairly clean. I was taken aback by the staff person who oversaw the breakfast area. He was surly and kind of scary. The breakfast was good and the majority European travellers I overheard seemed to like it there. Go here if you want to save money and be in a good location; avoid it if you need friendly staff and better accomodations.

Barely Acceptable. Expect Rude Staff.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/06
Tiniest rooms ever. Desk staff was extremely rude and almost verbally abusive. Location is both superb and safe. Decently clean, just very old and run-down. Good for one night or maybe two, but not for a vacation, definitely not for more than one person per room, and definitely not for a family!

Milner Hotel: to be demolished!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/5/06
I agree with other comments I have read: STAY AWAY! Rooms and corridor are just ugly, and don't expect any intelligent information from the desk (they even didn't know about existence of internet services in Boston..there it is: 20m in front, in Radisson). I'd better had camped in the street. Upon arrival I had to wait 45 min to have my key because of a problem with the customer before me and upson departure I had to wait for 6 customers in order to obtain my stored luggage..they'll do 1 thing at the time, even if you'll have to wait until the next day.Breakfast: you'll make your waffles yourself....Good luck. I'll protest to our business center organisation who has reserved it!It's not worth 10$, the worst I have seen since years, but the corridor could be a good scene in Psychose nr.5...

My worst hotel experience ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/2/06
I recommend to anybody considering going to the Milner Hotel to think twice. I made a reservation to stay here about a month before my stay. I arrived in Boston (flew in from Toronto) and took the 25 minute cab ride from the airport and found the Milner Hotel. The receptionist at the front desk said they had no record of my reservation. I gave her a confirmation code, but she said it wasn't valid. I asked to speak with her manager but she said he was not there. After an hour of talking on the phone to my travel agent (and her talking to the receptionist), we gave up and went elsewhere (the Milner Hotel was full, as was the entire city virtually because of conferences in Boston at the time). The only hotel we could find in the city was the Embassy Suites - nice place, but $350 a night! One month later, I received a charge on my credit card - for a no show charge - from the Milner hotel! I called my travel agent - she called the hotel. They did not return her call (big surprise) until she threatened to fly down and call CNN as this experience was horrible. Finally the manager called back. They had spelled my name wrong, AND had put my reservation down for the wrong month! The manager had to put my travel agent on hold because "the cleaning staff were in a fist fight". Although the manager did refund the no-show charge and credited my credit card for the difference for one night between the Milner ($150) and the Embassy Suites ($350), it was not worth the hassle and the Milner's rude staff. I suggest to avoid this hotel at all costs. They are unprofessional, rude, disorganized, and above were accusatory to me even though it ended up being their error. Go anywhere else but the Milner.
