While it's not as splendid as the Hotel Hana-Maui, this hotel is quite lovely in its own right. It's located just in the tiny village of Hana, along a gorgeous strip of black sand beach. The hotel is quiet, peaceful and rustic. A few tourists wander back and forth from the pretty guest units to the nearby beach. Birds chirp and flowers gleam under the dew from frequent rainshowers. The normal concerns of everyday life rarely intrude on the almost unbelievable serenity of this snug little rainforest retreat.

5 reviews for Hana Kai-Maui Resort On Hana Bay, Hana
Hana Kai #5 is incredible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/08
The bedroom is like sleeping on a boat you are so close to the ocean. The bed was super comfortable. We started each day watching sunrise drinking coffee sitting in bed. The resort is under new management and has undergone renovations. We looked into a number of rooms most have great ocean views. Inside and out the place looks great. Hana is our favorite place on Maui. You know you are in Hawaii. The warmth of the locals, many cultural events, nightsky, quiet, flowers, food and ocean will keep me coming back for more.

Hana Kai #206 is Spectacular!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/18/07
We stayed in newly remodeled Hana Kai #206 for a romantic getaway recently. It was a perfect lofted studio tastefully decorated with fantastic tile work throughout the whole condo. Wow is the bathroom spectacular with its twin shower heads and real river rock boulder sink. The owners have thought of everything from paper goods, saran wrap, candles and comfy linens. The gorgeous Hamoa and Koki beaches are just a short drive away and the beach out front of the resort also offers nice walks, ambiance and a spectacular view from the room as you are lulled by the waves right from your room. We had an amazing night's sleep on the Select comfort air bed, fully adjusting each side to our own comfort- amazing! We would recommend this delightful condo to any of our friends and family for that perfect romantic getaway! My husband was also able to keep in touch with work with the wireless high speed access and the huge granite slabs for office and breakfast bar made work and play easy... couples only... don't miss it!

decent. you get what you pay for.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/07
when i made the reservation they told me they had only one of the larger rooms left yet so i took it. When i arrived there appeared to be plenty of vacancies. The place was clean, had a good view of the ocean and the staff were friendly. Hana is in the middle of nowhere so make use of the Fridge and microwave in the room by stocking up before you arrive. Also, after the earthquake you cant do a loop of the island, ask the staff if the road is open.

The room was average and clean. The sunrise was unbelievable!! Would recommend for the price if your not trying to impress.

One nite in Hana
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/04
Difficult to find a one night stay in Hana. The Hana Kai-Maui charged me $195. plus tax. There were 4 of us and only 3 wine glasses and 3 coffee cups in the cupboard, no dishwasher--yet no dish pan or dish drainer to be found! Very few kitchen towels. Kitchen poorly appointed. No potholders. The only dining table was on the lanai, whose view would have been improved by pruning the palm trees. No washer or dryer. After our condo in Kahana--this was barely acceptable and more expensive. On the plus side: within walking distance to a black sand beach.
