I have been staying in your motel for the last 7 years. This past weekend of the 16th - 18th was probably the worst. We always book in advance for the following year. I was asked for what type of accomodations I would prefer. I stated a queen size bed or 2 queens if available, non smoking, room preferrably on the west side of the bldg. Upon arrival, checked in, noticed the bed was no bigger than a babys crib. I asked the front desk and was told the beds go by room number(mine was #210). The two(2) of us barely fit. For 3 days had to ask for wash cloths. On Sunday, awoke and noticed all my clothes that were on hangars were all damp, the towells were all damp, had to get them replaced as well. When checking out I told the recptionist of what had happended and she stated to me that the bed in fact was a double twin. She asked if we had turned on the A/C, which may have caused the moisture in the room. Didnt need to turn on A/C! No, we didnt open any windows. Very disappointed! A third party whom was also with us, and has been staying in your motel for 30 YEARS! He was assigned to room#131. A suite, with 2 queens, refrigerator, vast space, for one (1) person. As he checked out, he asked why he was paying so much for a room he didnt need. The receptionist told him this was the room he had requested. He told her that he had requested one bed, upper or lower didnt matter. He still payed the ridicules price for a room he did not order? He also is very disappointed and we have discussed this with another party who also has been staying at your est. and we are all looking to seek another location for next year. There is something wrong with this system. Sorry, but this is not acceptable and I will take it to a higher level.
I've stayed here 2-3 different times. This Motel 6 is in a pretty good location - near Denny's restaurant, close to the freeway (but not so close you hear freeway noise), and the staff is always friendly. My only complaint - I had four people in my room and was only provided with 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels, and 2 bath towels (2 queen bed room). Also, I was never provided with new cups each day. I had to go to the front desk to ask for additional towels and cups each day.
Goods: Rooms were clean. Front desk staff were ok. TV was working. Denny's Diner is right outside the place.
Bads: Shower was really high pressure - couldn't enjoy it.
Overall: Location is excellent close to Carmel, Monterey, and Sand City. This place has good value for money if you need a decent place to rest at night and are going to be out all day.
Exceptionally friendly and helpful. I traveled alone, and as a woman I felt they took an interest in my security which was nice. Room & bathroom was very clean. I am familiar with the Monterey area; when time and finances allow, I choose more expensive lodging with more ammenities for the family.
If you want clean, friendly, affordable seclusion, yet close to stores and restaraunts,( plus nature with miles of walking beach), then choose this motel. Only negative is crossing the freeway to the beach, but stay safe, and it is worth it.
This is honestly the nicest Motel 6 I ever stayed at. The front desk staff is friendly and accommodating, the location is excellent, there's a great restaurant on the same driveway -- easy walk down the hill -- and you can't beat the price, especially in the off-season. :)
