Loved it. Simple, affordable, close to everything.

We have gone ton Hamlet motel for several years It is close to everything in town, offers clean accomidations, and a continental breakfast at Olson Bakery across the streeet. It's also across the street from the famous Paula's pancakes, where we eat often. Whether we book 2 rooms or 5, the family-owned motel gives great service with a smile!

I planned a one night stay in advance and had a verbal agreement with the mgr (Anthony) that he would waive the 2 night minimum price for me and only charge me for one night as it wouldn't be a problem as they had the room. This agreement was extremely clear over the phone and I had everything written down on my end (mgr name, price, date, confirmation #, etc) but when I arrived, there was no record of our agreement and after speaking again with Anthony, I was told that I would be charged for 2 nights and I had to "either take it or leave it." A friend of mine was also given a waiver for the 2 night minimum over the phone (she called separately from me) and was also told the agreement wouldn't be honored once she got there. Rather than pay more than what was agreed, we both left. I advise everyone else to either get these "agreements" in writing or do the same as we did and leave.

I've stayed at the Hamlet Motel twice, and was pleasantly surprised by the spacious, clean rooms, and convenient central location within Solvang. The rooms were actually larger, and more comfortable than those at the nearby Best Western King Frederick. The motel includes continental breakfast credits for the Danish bakery right across the street. Two night stays average about $60 per night, if you have a AAA membership--save your money on all the wonderful food and wine in the city! If you are looking for a quick weekend getaway, visit Solvang!

CALLED AND CLEARK WAS RUDE, TOLD ME TWO NIGHT MINIMUM AND HUNG UP THE PHONE. I would not go to a place that has bad customer service, sorry. I just wanted to pass by and stay for 1 night. I will stay at some other place.

I love this motel! Three friends and I stayed here to tour Solvang and were pleasantly surprised to find a warm, inviting, cute room with king and queen beds! The room was large, fridge worked great, and it was very clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Although small, I really liked the bathroom - it was different and fun! I will stay here every time I come to Solvang.

The rates are great able to stay longer because of lower rates. Rooms very clean. Staff very helpful. Great location easy walk to everything. We have been here 3 times and will be back.

My boyfriend and I decided to take a chance on this motel based on seeing the exterior on a previous trip to solvang. The rooms were very spacious, and while the decor was slightly dated/mismatched, it was spotlessly clean, and had a huge tv, and mini-fridge (perfect for leftovers!) The bed was very cozy, and our room was meticulously cleaned each day. The location was smack dab in the middle of solvang, and we were treated to continental breakfast at olsens across the street each morning. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee in the quaint gazebo on the grounds.One note, they did require payment at check-in, not at check-out as is more usual. A very nice little motel with traditional danish style, and a very affordable price. We will certainly be returning!

This is an older quaint motel. Staff extremely friendly. No pool, has a nice little fridge and a good bakery across the street. Yes it is older, but isn't that was Solvang is all about?

This is a fantastic place to stay.....Very nice and polite staff.Great location. Great walking distance to everything in town.Complimentary breakfast to the bakery across the street.
