Stay Away!!

We love staying at Holiday Inn Express all over the country as we travel a
lot for business. This hotel in Simi Valley, CA was very disappointing and
may change our minds when choosing HIE for future travels. This HIE was
not up to par at all. They put us in a smoking room when we did not want it
and refused to change it. The room reeked of smoke, was dirty, huge stains
on the carpet, bathroom smelled like mildew, air conditioner did not work
properly and the shower went from hot to cold every 30 seconds. We had two
nights booked and requested a change around 11:00pm and were told they could
do nothing for us and to check back in the morning. Went to the front desk
in the morning to ask for a room change and was told there was nothing they
cold do for us as we booked though "Hotwire". After a 10 minute conversation
with the front desk, they stood their ground and said because we booked with
"Hotwire", they could not move us to a different room. The front desk girl
"Lexie" was rude, condescending and snooty. She also stated that full paying
guests get priority over "Hotwire" guests and we should have booked through
the hotel directly (Not good at all as a hotwire customer). We asked to talk
to the manager and Lexie said she was not available and the front desk cant
even contact her even in an emergency. Really??? That's reason enough not to
stay here. To make a very long story short, we check out and left the hotel
with one night still paid for. Yes, that's how bad the hotel was! I guess
they don't care about repeat business and customer service is long gone!
After 5 years of staying with HIE when traveling, we will look somewhere
else. What a shame!
