So pleasant and comfortable!
By mp1982, 12/01/09
My husband and I really enjoyed our trip to the area and staying at this relaxed and convenient hotel was a big positive. It's located just outside of the city in Scotts Valley and towards San Jose so it made the commute back to the Bay Area convenient. It's surrounded by trees and far away from all the cluttered cheap hotels near the Santa Cruz beach. The rooms were very clean -- I even used their pillow! (which I rarely ever touch in hotels) I think the hotel is under new management now and it seemed like the staff was very friendly. We forgot a couple toiletries and they had free ones available for us. the fresh fruit and coffee during the continental breakfast was excellent. They have a pool and hottub which we didn't get to use but looked alright from our room. There's also a Starbucks walking distance. There's a yummy sushi place where we had dinner right down the street called Rumble Fish. So yes, awesome location! We will definitely stay there when we make it back!

Surprisingly positive
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/07
July 2007, Having read the online reviews here, I was a bit sceptical. But since I didn't want to spend the Hilton weekend rate, I really didn't have a choice. But when I got there I was really positively surprised. Everything was great. The location is surrounded by trees and green shrubs and ferns. Rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Atmosphere was attractive and relaxed. I looked hard, but couldn't find any problem areas. The only problem I found, and it was very minor, there was a three inch of silicon seal on the bathtub that was a bit loose. Paint was fairly new everywhere. Everything was super clean. We watched the cleaning crew and I can assure you that if they had scrubbed any harder, the paint would have come off our door. King size bed felt new and comfortable. I slept well for a one nighter, which is rare since I always have troubles the first night in a strange bed. Free breakfast was also better then the average "continental" served in other places. There were breakfast burritos, some egg-wrap for the microwave. Cereal, juice, coffee, tea, toast etc. There was also a pool and a jacuzzi which I didn't use, so no comment there. I also don't know if there was an internet hookup. I only stayed one night. I might have to go back there again for business and won't have second thoughts about staying there again.

Customer Service the Worst
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/11/06
If it wasn't for the rude staff at the desk, it wouldn't be so bad. Don't bother making a reservation and or getting a confirmation number as they will tell you that you did not get it with their location. The staff locks you out of your room each night forcing you to come in to the office and have your key re-coded-not once, not twice, but every night of your stay. I witnessed the clerk at the desk call the police on a family who was staying at the hotel because the clerk said the family was rude to her- more like they were tired of standing around the lobby waiting for the clerk to check them in. The clerk was yelling and carrying on that she had the right to refuse service to anybody. The police officers even admitted that the clerk was "out of line". This hotel really needs to find staff who understand customer service and weary travelers, after witnessing the clerks behavior I would be afraid to go back.
