Mission Inn, Santa Cruz

We had a great time here the receptionist was very helpfull she even let us into our unit 3 hours before check in. The room we got was very spacious. The continental breakfast was good but it was a popular spot when we went to get our breakfast the small room was so packed that we had no choice but to take our food to the outside courtyard it was better than to be in the room with so many people. We will for sure return this was a cozy place to stay.

The room was very clean, all the staff were very nice, even the "grumpy" manager, who wasn't grumpy! He was nice,even when we bothered him at 10pm :). Breakfast was great, lots of variety for picky lil eaters! We will stay there again the next time we are in town!

Our room was clean and the grounds seemed well cared for. It is a short walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. I found the pillows rather lumpy, but all in all enjoyed our stay.

This place made us feel like a home away from home, the rooms were spacious and with all the flowers all over it was a great place to stay. We loved the continental breakfast. We will come back again when we will stay in Santa Cruz I don't know why I didn't find this place before LOVE the low price.

I stay here every time I come to Santa Cruz, what a great place .manager & staff is very nice & make it a safe place to stay . Rooms are kept very clean.love the hot tub

This place was a great value. Stayed there in April with my kids. Rooms were large and very clean. It only was less than 5 minutes from the Beach and Boardwalk. Would stay here again. Our room had a fridge and microwave - per my request, plus free wireless.

For the weekend of January 12, 2008, I had several friends and family visiting for my boyfriend's surprise birthday party. I set them up at the Mission Inn. I visited the Mission Inn prior to sending them there. I was greeted with friendly customer service and shown three very clean and large rooms. I was shocked to read the poor reviews written about the Mission Inn. I have checked with my guests and they ALL had a pleasant and comfortable experience. Contrary to some of the negative and recent reviews, this motel is very clean, very spacious and an absolutely GREAT deal for the price. I highly recommend the Mission Inn and encourage other travelers to disregard the negative reviews.

I don't think that bed bugs would even stay here!!! Talk about walking into a place and wishing you could turn around and leave, and we would have if it wasn't 10:30pm and tried after 14 hours of traveling. I guess it was a little better than sleeping in the car! NOT! Needless to say we slept in your clothes and kept our shoes on. When we went to check out the next morning, we let the person at the front desk know that the carpet in the one room we had (we actually paid for 2 rooms)was so disgusting and stained that it probably shouldn't be rented out. Her reply was OH yah we know it's scheduled to be replaced. My response was - Well I wish some one would have shared that with us before and/or not rent it out. I defintely would have asked for a different room. I think thats a no brainer, if the carpet is sooooo bad, it shouldn't be inservice. I wish I would read some of the comments before staying at the MISSION INN!!!

I live in Santa Cruz and wanted to find a nice place for family and friends to stay during my wedding this last weekend in July. We made a group reservation for about 13 or so rooms. The manager wasn't very helpful while I was making reservations but I thought he was more socially inept than downright rude. I was so embarrassed to learn that the rooms were marginally clean and the manager was so rude that two of our guests decided they would rather find a new hotel than deal with his nasty attitude. Overall, all our guests said the Mission Inn is not a nice place to stay.
