Not all Best Westerns are created the same.
I booked a room with two queens online for $107.10 total a night, and received confirmation from Best Western's website. I received a call two days later from the hotel (King City) asking me to take a room with one King instead because they didn't have the room I booked. I tried to be accommodating and told him if he can give me a King with two rollaways, then I'll take it (I have 4 people in my party). He said o.k. Two days before my trip, I called the hotel directly to confirm my reservation, and the owner, Chandra, told me he didn't have my reservation, period. I told him that was impossible since someone from the hotel had called me regarding the switch, so I KNOW they had received my reservation. He asked me to straighten it out with Best Western. I called BW and they were very helpful. I explained my situation and they confirmed that my reservation had been sent, and agreed that the hotel is obligated to provide me with what they promised. BW staff dealt with the owner and opened a Customer Care file for me, and assured me the owner has now agreed to what was promised. When I arrived at the hotel, the owner again told me they didn't have two rollaway beds for me, and that he had told BW that. I said that was between him and BW and reminded him that a Customer Care file had been opened on my behalf. I don't really know what the Customer Care file is, but as soon as he heard that, he was like, "o.k. o.k., no problem". After all that, I walked into a dirty room with sticky carpet, stuff in the refrigerator from previous occupants, and only two sets of towels. My rollaways were delivered promptly though. They ran out of hot water for a little while (about 15 minutes) that night. The breakfast options were bananas, green apples, toast, imitation fruit loops, and two other types of cereal, fudge brownies?, milk, juice and coffee. They have ONE table with 4 chairs in front of a counter where the food was placed. Oh, they placed the bananas and apples on the table because the counter didn't have enough space. Will I stay there again? No. I'll take my chances with the two star motels. Reminder: Book with a chain if you can because if the hotel doesn't care about your complaint, corporate does. Always call the hotel directly to confirm your reservation after you've received confirmation, and just before your trip, and bring all documentation with you on your trip. Without documentation, the hotel will just blow you off.
