Super 8 San Diego / Imperial Beach, CA, San Diego

This hotel needs to be shut down there are ants everywhere and roaches , in the breakfast room there are nats all over the food and juice i have no idea how they got an A hanging in there they must have paid someone, also the front desk workers look all like crack heads 2 black ladies one always outside smoking and the other was very rude i would ask for something and she didnt want to do anything . Then there is a night clerk a man who is very creepy staring at us and mostly at my daughter he made her feel very uncomfortable on the level of a child sicko. We asked to speak with the GM he didnt want to give us the time of day and then to come to find out he is a owner of the hotel was garbage they all are stay away from here . We are working right now on making acomplaint to the health department!!!!!

I guess I should have read the reviews before booking this motel. I don't think that promoting excellent customer service is a top priority at all at this establishment. They must just keep afloat because there are only about 3 motels in the area. We booked a room at this Super 8 because my husband was doing a triathlon a mile away and there wasn't a big choice. We have had good luck with Wyndham properties in the past prior to this stay. And we did not expect the Ritz with the reputation that Super 8 has. When we got to the hotel the front desk associate informed us that we had two rooms. We had booked over the internet and only booked 1 room, therefore receiving only 1 confirmation number. There is no reason why I would lie about this - we are only a family of 3. I showed the fd associate my confirmation number on my smart phone and she asked me if I could print it out, but I only had the email on my phone. I asked her to call a manager and she said she was sure after they heard the problem, the manager would refund the charge on Monday. I told her that I wanted her to pass this information along so I wouldn't have to repeat myself and reexplain the story. She said she would definitely pass the information along. I took 1 key for 1 one and stayed the night confident that I would not have to pay for the additional room that was booked. Upon checkout, my husband was told by another fd associate that the room would be refunded on Monday. I got busy on Monday, but followed up on Tuesday. I spoke to the Assistant Mgr. who was not aware of the situation at all. She said she could not make a decision and would call me back when the GM came in for the day. After waiting several hours, I called back. I was told that I would not be receiving a refund since the motel was not at fault. I asked to speak to the manager and the Assistant said he would not take my call saying he did not have to speak to me which I thought was odd. I feel as though this was a glitch in the system. I was not aware that I was double booked until I came to the motel. Why would I book two rooms if I wasn't going to use them?Because I just have money to throw around? I would have cancelled the second room if I had ever received a confirmation email for the second room. And it is not as if I checked in at midnight and the motel couldn't sell the room to someone else. I don't see why the motel couldn't issue me a refund and why the GM wouldn't speak to me. It is obvious they do not care whatsoever. I will continue to follow up with Super 8 customer service and their corporate headquarters. I worked for a hotel chain for almost 8 years and I guess I wrongly expected a high level of standards in the hospitality world. At my hotel we would have called the guest ahead of time to confirm the duplicate reservation. We always were taught that the "Customer is always right" but this motel staff was uncaring and unconcerned if they left a bad impression. I would hope that someone above the GM would make an educated decision and refund my money. I will never stay at this motel again (as if they even care!). I told my husband that I don't think that anyone reads these reviews, but I hope I am wrong.

Worst neighborhood in San Diego, high crime rate area. Scary place, definitely not the pictures shown on the travel sites or hotel sites. 70's furniture, old moldy walls, filthy restrooms, the bed was hard like a rock, room smelled bad, face scraping towels, definitely not a place for kids. One thing I am going to say, is that the front desk employees were very nice and helpful.

The only thing good about this hotel was it was a close drive to the beach. Horrible smell of smoke and mold. We asked for extra blanket and pillows, they had none and the hotel wasnt even busy. No extra towels either. We took off our do not disturb sign at 9 am when leaving for the day so we could get our room clean and the housekeeper lied and said it was on until after 11 so she didnt have to clean it. Filthy dirty room, Desk person was rude and nothing was done about anything when we addressed problems, We stayed for 3 days and was supposed to stay for 4 but left and paid for another hotel it was so bad and we had already paid in full for the 4 days. Dont stay at this hotel. It is horrible and we will never ever be back.

I never leave comments or reviews on places I stay at but this place was so dirty and with wholes in the curtains I have to warn fellow travelers. Don't stay here, its so has a musty smell, stains in the carpet, you can smell the dirt/dust in the hallway and your room etc...

This hotel was good in all aspects. A nice place to enjoy. Good service was given by the hotel staff, would like to visit this place again along with my family and friends.
