Super 8 Motel Atascadero, Atascadero

I've never dealt with ruder people. The owner was rude when we checked in (all we did was ask if we could be situated closer to the group we came in with - he had a fit and said he couldn't move a bunch of rooms all around just for us). The day of check-out we get a call at 10:45 (15 minutes before check out time) instructing us that it's time to get out. Collectively, my husband and I stay at 10's of hotels every year and have NEVER had this happen. When we got out of the room to check out the owner was walking around the property, cordless phone in hand, knocking on doors. My husband walked up to him, handed him our keys, and informed him this was the rudest hotel he'd ever stayed at (this is verbatim). The owner responded with "watch your language!". He never said a cuss word and I have 5 witnesses to prove it. My husband responded saying "I'm just telling you you are the rudest hotel I've ever stayed in and won't be returning". The owner then actually said "I'm calling the police!". At this point we just laughed and walked off. As we walked to our car, one of the other people in our party actually witnessed the man call the police! We didn't bother to stick around, although I'm sure we would have had an awesome laughing session with them if they showed up. The owner is the most unprofessional, rude person I've ever encountered and I will never be returning and urge anyone else not to, just for this purpose!
