House on the Hill Motel, Oceanside

This is a very clean, quiet, private little place to getaway. We loved it! No phone or tv, warm room, amazing view of 3 Arch Rock, our room faced the ocean & sat at the edge of a cliff. We brought our laptop & watched movies, read books & just enjoyed a lot of alone time. Only $98 for 2 nites, you can't beat this bargain! We're definitly going back soon!

This is a charming little place with incredible ocean views. As the name suggests, the motel is perched high on a hill looking over the beach on rock cliff that just out into the ocean. I'm pretty sure that all the rooms face out to water and they all have a balcony on the ocean side -- the balconies are shared with the neighboring unit. The rooms are simple: this is a motel, after all, and not a resort. But they are clean and nice enough. My only complaint is that the bed was pretty small -- it was supposed to be a queen, but it seemed more like a full sized mattress -- and a little too soft, but that's just being nitpicky. The House on the Hill is a good value in the off-season (when we went). I'm not sure how I'd feel about paying summertime prices here, but we got a heck of deal by going in February -- and we got beautiful weather, too!
