View Motel, Cottonwood

CLEAN!! REFRIGERATOR AND MICROWAVE IN ROOM. NO PROBLEMS . AIR CONDITIONER WORKED WELL BUT JUST A LITTLE NOISEY BUT DID NOT BOTHER ME. I HAD JUST HAD ROTATOR CUFF SURGERY AND STAYED THE NIGHT THERE ON A COMFORTABLE BED. STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL AND CHECK OUT TIME WAS 11:00AM. THE PLACE SERVED MY NEEDS VERY WELL AND THE PRICE WAS THE LOWEST IN TOWN FOR SUCH A NICE PLACE AS THAT WITH APPLIANCEAS IN ROOM. VERY QUIET AND PEACEFUL , OUT OF THE OR SHALL i SAY ABOVE THE TRAFFIC OF TOWN DRIVERS BELOW.

Found this motel driving by it. It is located at the top of the hill and kind of out of sight. Very quiet, has swimming pool, spa, the greenery around it is lovely and the view of Verde Valley is fantastic! Great rates! Clean! Good beds! While it is an older motel, they have upgraded it nicely. If you are looking for a comfortable, clean and affordable room with a lovely view, do try The View.

This is a modest Motel, which fully satisfied our needs - it is clean, the rooms are relatively small but very comfortable for 2 persons,and they are very quiet. It is located off the main street, on a hill with a beautiful view over the Verde River Valley. Restaurants and shops close by, good connection to Sedona. For the low price we paid, we could not have asked for more. We stayed at The View Motel in Jan. 2008

Stayed here after reading two good reviews on another website. Should have looked at these reviews instead. Some sketchy people staying here, probably due to low cost. After having to pay for two nights upfront, open the door to our room and find a cigarette hole in the cheap blanket on our bed in a NON-smoking room. Then my husband finds a pen sticking out of a hole in the door to the adjoining room. 1950's sink and bathroom. Worst part is that there was no hot water. After going to the owners, they said to "run it for 5 MINUTES" and this is what we had to do each time we used the sink or shower. The heater/air cond. interior unit had a gas flame that was extremely noisy and kept the room so hot we had to keep the window open. Then at 2:30am we hear what sounds like people taking rolling luggage in for at least 30 minutes, so we let it go, although it sounded like 30-40 suitcases! The next night, we come back from dinner to find 6 teens about 17-18 yrs. old skateboarding repeatedly RIGHT IN FRONT of our door and then down the hill nearby! That's what the noise was! We were afraid to say anything as we were afraid of them hitting the skateboard into our new rental car. After hearing one of them scream in pain, after about 45 minutes, they left. Owners are only about 5 doors down adn overlook the whole parking lot but never came out or said anything, we figured it might be their kids. They weren't. Be smart. Stay away.

It is a funky 50's motel ---not just another boring hi-rise. It is clean, the staff is polite, it is comfortable. It is well located to all good things. I love a motel that is one story, that I can drive up to my door to unload, and have plenty of parking. The windows will open for venting, not sealed as in newer hotels. The pool/spa + area is clean, nice size,well cared for, with a great view. Minimal towels provided, but remember that helps keep the prices down,too. Yes, some room coolers might be a bit noisy but not intolerable thus far. The regular rooms are a standard size w nice decent size bathroom. The views, location, price, and the old ambience of that era motel keep me coming back. *Reviewed by an X flight attendant

i was told that we had a unit with 3 beds and 2 baths. it has 2 baths in a room roughly the size of a prison cell. there is however 3 beds. mine is the third, conviently located next to the kitchen sink. overall id say that im not happy w/ these accomodations.

no AC in our room, swamp cooler instead. was told was getting a 3 bed two bath unit who new the third is in the kitchen and the two baths are in the same room.

Caveat Emptor! Big Time with this motel! The main issue I had was with the staff. They were all rude and condescending, had holier than thou attitudes and no hospitality what-so-ever. The only pro concerning this place is that it is cheap; hence, Caveat Emptor... :(

We've stayed here a couple times and will again. It's a fantastic place to stay for the Motorcyclist or the down to earth traveler. Just down the hill from Jerome and just 20 Miles south of Sedona at considerable savings. Right next to Clarkdale and the Verde Canyon Railroad with the Toozigoot National Monumunt and Dead Horse Ranch State Park right along the way. Home of The Blazzin M Ranch for a great Cuckwagon Dinner and Western Stage Show at a great price for all the food and entertainment you get. Whats not to like about this place. There's also a really good Restaurant right across the street but I don't remeber the name, sorry.

I have stayed at the View on several occasions over the last year and a half. I original booked our rooms with the View because of the economical price they offered, I have come back because of the service, relaxing atmosphere and the spectacular view of the Verde Valley. I enjoy watching the sun rise and the night sky is absolutely gorgeous from the "top of the hill". I highly recommend this delightful find nestled smack dap in the middle of Cottonwood Az.
