Mountain Sage Inn, Estes Park

Each year, we go to Estes Park at least once for a few days of relaxation and sightseeing, and we will nearly always stay at the Mountain Sage Inn. Why? Because it is one of the best motels we have ever visited, anywhere! The service is great, the rooms are comfortable, and the price is right, and the motel is located just a short distance from downtown Estes Park. This means we can walk to the downtown area and don't have to worry about where to park the car. In addition, one of the entrances to Rocky Mountain National Park is just a short drive from the Mountain Sage Inn . We hope to be able to return to the Mountain Sage Inn for years to come.

the hospitality of the owners is beyond belief...they have a great time and make you feel very comfortable. the most impressive thing I saw was the handling of the smokers...when the owners mean no smoking, they mean no smoking and they were very discrete and very prompt in visiting with guests smoking on the property. the rooms were awesome and the location was the best and the "golf course" advice was the greatest!!! We at Mountain Sage Inn are sorry that Ms. W. did not like her stay at our facility. However, we still feel that we were acting correctly in requiring that she not allow her 4 year old daughter to climb over the deck railing to climb on to the roof (twice)or to exceed the room capacity with extra people. We did offer a refund for their second night, which was refused and we did not charge for the extra people in the room. We have to balance the safety and comfort of all of our guests and we hope that the positive reviews recorded here are proof that we care about our guests and try to provide a good experience for all of them. Stayed here this week and it was a terrible experience. Mattress was hard, springs coming through. Water temp. was impossible to regulate from scalding hot to freezing cold. Owner was rude and uncaring of concerns. Bathroom light out, poor air quality and a/c, and no spare toilet tissue! Positive ratings should be considered questionable. Poor--poor--poor!

My Husband and I and our 1 year old and 4 year old daughters stayed here. It was horrible their service was extreamly rude. My 4 year old daughter and I could not sit on our padio and enjoy ourselves without them yelling at us at 2:00 in the afternoon for singing, skiping, or relaxing on the padio. Every 5 min they would come out to see what we were doing, and they had something to say about it. We had to end up getting a 2nd hotel room down the rd because the room was not what they had said ( different size bed no ac)so since we had paid for the hotel we let our sister and neice stay and we stayed at a different hotel that worked for us. They threatned to charge us for letting them stay. They ruined our vacation. If you want to relax and enjoy your stay DO NOT stay at the Mountain Sage Inn.

I stayed one night here in one of the "Economy rooms." It was clean, quiet and a great location away from the traffic. Easy access to the Fall River park entrance. The economy room was plenty big for just me and would have been adequate for a short stay for 2.

We loved everything about this motel! It was one of the cleanest at which we have ever stayed. The staff is helpful and pleasant and the location can't be beat - 5 minute walk to the heart of Estes Park. Watching the elk was a blast!

What a wonderful find! We're so glad we didn't stay in motel row where you first come into town. From Mountain Sage we were able to walk right to downtown and it was so quiet! The elk were grazing right outside our door. We can actually afford to come back again and we will!

Every time we've stayed at the Inn the hosts have been so accomadating and personal. They are always doing things to improve the property. The Hearth Room is so beautiful! We've recommended family and friends to this reasonably priced, clean, convenient and homey place. Right out our window in the morning were a group of 5 elk!!!

Stayed for four nights in mid June, 2005. It was perfect. Very, very reasonable for the quality & cleanliness of the room. All was wonderful. THANX! Plan on staying there again on return trip.
