Mountain Sage Inn, Estes Park

This hotel is not very pleasant. The owner is very rude, as the previous person states. THERE ARE SO MANY NO SMOKING SIGNS!! I do not even smoke, but there are so many no smoking signs everywhere it is annoying. Check out time is 10:00, and if you are not out by 10:01 the lebian or bisexual (whatever) owner will come knocking at your door saying you have to get out or (he/she) will be charging you an extra day. Next time I stay, I'll pay a little extra to not be in this hotel and be treated like that again. Definitely do not stay here if you are from the Lone Star State because you will not want to be treated like that.

Lyn was sooooo rude. We went to eat dinner and came back and there was no parking spaces on our side of the motel. There was a spot by the stairs so we pulled in. Next to the spot was a sign that said no parking. So since the sign was to the right we figured it was okay to park. My husband recently had surgery and I had total knee replacement so being by the stairs was an asset when getting our luggage etc...The next morning I was looking out the window and Lyn pulled her car right behind ours horizontally so we couldn't get out. There was a note on our windshield that said "come by the front desk when you are ready to move your car out of my parking place!". I saw Lyn and I said do you want me to move our vehicle. (Even though there was a space on the right and on the left) she said your in my spot and walked off before I could say anything. So I decided to dry my hair so I could go talk to her. As I'm drying my hair the power shuts off. So I call the front desk phone number...I hear her answer the phone right outside the window. So I look out and she is standing below. So I hang up the phone and say to her that I was drying my hair and the breaker tripped. Could she please reset it. She said rudely.."how many things do you have plugged in. I said a curling iron and hair dryer. She said "that is an old room and can't handle two things, you have to turn one off before I will reset it". So, my husband goes down to load the car and she still is blocking us. My husband scooted a railroad tie so we could get out. She heard it and came marching out. Yelling at my husband. She continued yelling saying this was her spot--he said there is plenty of room next to us. As she continued yelling I said out the window--you know what the beauty of this is??? THE INTERNET..... I can post on Tripadvisory, etc...that you have treated us so rudely!! Immediately she became very nice and apologized and basically begged my husband not to post any comments. YA RIGHT-never have we had a Motel, Hotel, Cabin etc...treat us so rudely. If we could post pictures I could prove that she had plenty of space on the right to park and the person on the left of us had left and that spot was open. I also took pictures of her note. Somewhere on the web I will find somewhere to post all the pictures. ALSO, no where on her property is Handicap parking!!! On the back side of the building where we were parked there is a fenced area that she brings her dogs back to exercise/train. Right next to the gravel lot they have a paved area where they have it blocked off so you can't use that exit. I believe it is the entrance to the hot tub area. Since it is is paved right there and there was plenty of room for her to have parked there since she is the owner,,she still chose to block us and then proceed to totally go off on us.

Wife and I spent three nights here in July, 2009. If clean and quiet are your prorities, this place can't be beat. The price is right, pleasant river walk to down towrn Estes Park, easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. Will definitely stay here again if in the area. Highly recommend. Loved watching Elk graze on the lawn and listening to river sounds with my window open at night. Location was fantastic for our wants. We were able to walk to restaurants, shops and entertainment.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights. We were amazed at all that was included in the price. The room was well maintained and clean. The managers were very available and helpful without being nosey. We got in late after a long flight and drive and we were thrilled to find a little 'welcome snack pack'. The breakfast room is cozy, with local papers, a TV, weather radio, fireplace, and trail maps. There was a computer for our use in the lobby. So each morning we'd get our morning coffee and muffins, read the paper, check our email and plan our day. We even took advantage of the free DVD library on one night. The Inn is also within easy walking distance of town, if you'd like to leave the car behind. What a pleasant stay. I highly recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Innkeepers(Bootsie and Lyn)are very helpful and very friendly. My wife and I agree that the Mountain Sage Inn is the most spotlessly clean motel we have ever stayed in and we travel a lot. The rates are an extraordinary value and the location is scenic and quiet. If your not already a dog lover you will be after you meet the Corgis, Harry & Wookie.

I read alot of reviews and was a little leary. I am so glad that I wanted to try it out for myself. The ladies that run the inn are great, very helpful. The rooms are small but very clean. The location is quiet and out of the way, yet only a few blocks to stores and great places to eat. If you are looking for luxary - go somewhere else and pay the price - and you will pay dearly in Estes Park. If you want a nice, clean place to sleep with some very nice touches - a nice little snack bag and information about great places to see and hike, stay here - you will not be disappointed. The ladies work real hard to make your stay fun, safe and enjoyable.

We stayed for 4 nights in July 07, The room was Very Comfortable and Very Clean . Nice quiet location , other guest were friendly quiet and No smoking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to town .

Excellent, very professional and helpful in all ways. Very clean rooms and very reasonable prices. My wife and I would definately stay here again if we go back to Estes Park.

Mountain Sage Inn was a quite, comfortable and affordable place to stay. We were there on vacation for ten nights and loved it. The rooms were simply done, but were very clean and comfortable. The staff and owners were very friendly and a great help when giving advice to us tourists. The location is also excellent. I can't wait to go again. Thanks for a really great vacation.
