Anthony Motel, Mitchell

If I could give a higher rating for value I would. The rooms were clean and must be newly remodeled. So much better than many motels I find in our price range. Family owned and operated. We will stay here again if we are stopping in Mitchell! Why pay more for chain hotels when there are nice places like this one to stay at. I didn't have any problems with my phone call as others have stated. Give the budget inn a try! Thanks!

Not the value it used to be when Carman and Les owned it but I still stay there when pheasant hunting. New owner is like all the other motels in the area. They take advantage of opening weekend of pheasant season. I guess I would too. It's great to just back your truck up to the door and unload everything. Very safe and quiet.

I agree with the last review! We stayed at the Anthony for years, on our way to the Black Hills & Loved it - clean, affordable, great pool. But, the past 2 years, I am never able to get through on the phone?? We haven't stayed there since - I have called both the 800# & local #, but there's no answer, no answering machine, or anything. Are they still in business? It's a shame - we go to the hills about 6 times/year & would love to stay there. I've tried calling for the past 2 weeks & no luck. Anyone know if they are still open?

We have stayed at the Anthony numerous times through the years and loved it. However, since the new ownership took over you cannot call there and make a reservation. They absolutely NEVER answer the phone. There is no voice mail, answering machine, nothing. The phone rings forever and never an answer. Nothing intercepts to indicate a number no longer in service. I checked the phone number again on the internet and it's the correct number. We are left with only one choice, make a res. somewhere else.

The Anthony Motel was a great place to stay. We highly recommend this hotel and will continue staying there as we travel through Mitchell SD. The staff is excellent and the rolls during breakfast are awesome. I guess the only thing to say is: STAY THERE!
