Awful In Every Way.

Last month I went to Wisconsin on business with very little notice. I made a reservation at Wagon Trail two days in advance for a four day stay. I began feeling ill on the incoming flight. Upon arrival, I was extremely sick, and began making arrangements to return home immediately. I contacted my physician, who overnighted me medication to the hotel, which they signed for. I explained how ill I was to the desk person and owner, and that I needed to leave. They insisted on charging me for all four nights, even though I offered a doctor's referral. This policy is not in writing anywhere in their brochure. Even if it was, I believe extreme illness is an exception. They had many vacancies, at least six open rooms, because they kept moving me around, so I was not causing them to lose money. The reservation was not made so far in advance that they held a room for me. I was forced to stay one night before securing a flight home. The rooms were hot, humid, shabby, and smelled like mold or decay. Beware, families. The so-called forest view is actually of a parking lot and tree. The swimming pool is in the middle of the lobby, and it reeks. Besides being rude and unreasonable, the hotel, and particularly the rooms, are well below B grade, yet their prices are expensive. The place reminded me of a seedy, neglected cabin. As it turned out, I had pneumonia and my gall bladder had burst, and after emergency surgery, I spent several days in Intensive Care upon my return home. I do NOT recommend staying here because of the uncomfortable, hot rooms, shabby atmosphere, and horrible service.
