safety issues for guests
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/19/08
The pool area is a danger to guest and has been for quit a while! The indoor hot tub was over 104 and a guest some months back alerted the staff of this danger. The outside hot tub is a one foot green swamp and a child or adult could be seriously hurt from falling 5 feet or so into the giant cement hole. There should be signs and the area should be closed off in some way. The safety railing going in the outdoor pool is very loose and the half of the drain cover is missing from the indoor pool. Unfastened, broken or missing drain covers can kill children. Kids can be trapped by the suction. According to the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, body entrapment incidents have resulted in drowning deaths in both pools and spas. Common law mandates a hotel must exercise reasonable care for the safety of its guests, which includes children. Negligence is found when a hotel’s failure to exercise reasonable care is the proximate cause of a guest’s injuries. "Reasonable care" mandates routine pool and spa inspections by competent personnel. The hotel was average in other respects considering the price. A bit worn looking, and as other guests have stated there were only enough towels for one person to shower, the travel toiletries were missing as well as the top sheet to the bed, and I was told by the manager the entire hotel was out of tissues.

Atrocious Customer Service
By Melissa, 12/12/07
Where do I begin? Ratty sheets and blankets, ants crawling all over the breakfast area...but the worst was this; After my daughter & I both fell on black ice in the parking lot, we were informed by "manager" Deb Bogart that it was OUR fault (buyer beware, she said) and that we were looking for something when we checked in. She said it was unlawful to salt the driveway Is it? (never heard that one before!) But even if that were true, what's wrong with saying, "We aren't allowed to salt the driveway, so be careful out there." Anyone with an ounce of human compassion would have warned us about that. When we stated that it would have been nice to at least get an "Are you okay?" or an "I'm sorry", she said, "I'm not the sort of person to say that." (What a surprise) What in the world is she doing in customer service? After a heated conversation in which she was extremely rude and we were insulted, she finally ignored us. When we said we would never stay in a Comfort Inn again, she said, "That would be for the best." In all my 50 years, I have NEVER had such atrocious customer service. I am still shocked and angered by this "manager", and can't believe anyone in customer service would treat a paying customer like that. When we asked for an adjustment on our room, she said, "Your story doesn't merit any kind of adjustment." We have contacted the corporate office about this and they said they will get back to us in 7-10 days. I just want the word to get out about this hotel. NO ONE deserves to be treated this way!

Don't Stay Here!
By Tina, 8/10/07
Six of my family members, including myself, checked in early for a two-night stay in two adjoining rooms and were told the rooms would be ready at 2 pm. Nope... I thought, "That's ok; the printed check-in time is 3 pm." While waiting, my youngest son found a partially full bottle of Gatorade under one of the beds. By 4 pm one room was still not ready. Ok, no big deal. We were here to take my kids to Cedar Point. One room (the room not ready by 4 pm!) had NO towels. My sister called the front desk. Delivery boy/Front desk boy combo brought only bath towels, no hand towels and no washclothes. He MUST use a loofah in his showers. Later I had to finally go to the front desk to collect the washclothes and handtowels since they never arrived after call #2 and had to disappointedly exchange one of the handtowels due to "something" on the "clean" one. What a surprise! My parents thought about planting flowers behind their dresser due to the layers of snacks and trash accummulated. Oh yeah, my 4-year-old enjoyed the skittle he found there! On one attempt to go back to my room by way of the adjoining-room door, the doorknob came off completely. I thought, "You've got to be kidding me!" On day #2, the other room was given no towels and the beds were NOT made...what the?!..and the empty tissue box was not replenished. Also, the second morning there was no continental breakfast left by 9:30 am, eventhough it was suppose to last until 10 am. On a positive note, the indoor pool and hot tub were enjoyed the first night because the outdoor pool was dirty, the outdoor hot tub had no water in it, and the sauna was closed. Oh, and we can't forget about the cricket with a missing leg found in the bathroom. My mom watched a bug crawl across the nightstand on the morning of checkOUT.

Clean Yourself!!
By Happy, 7/26/05
The hotel needs major cleaning in the room. The sheet was not changed. I still see hair in bed from the night before. The bath room smell so bad. I had to dump the entire shampoo bottle to clean the toilet and floor. The room had ants in bed, by the TV, bathroom and everywhere!! The best about this hotel is the lady in breakfast room. She was the only one there to serve more than 100 guests!! If you stay there, don't take the bus to the park. We waited for more than an hour and finally drove our own car.

Great clean fun
By joem, 10/5/04
for being in major tourist area this offers nice clean rooms, the pool(s)are warm and clean as are the the sauna, and whirlpool, the kids love these, the drive to Cedar Point is about 20 min with alot of traffic, many fast food places all along the way also many shopping centers, if there are negatives it would be the check-in, you cant check in before 3PM so if you want to go to the park at opening time (10 Am) you have to go back to check in, we used this time to relax and swim for awhile and go back to park after 5Pm and then close the park. Breakfast is nothing to write home about but it is free, the staff seem to have control of the partys that could take place in these family tourist areas, my wife and I loved this as we have been burned in this city many many times by the all nighters(not here)we come to cedar point each year and we will continue to stay at Comfort Inn, Milan
