OK Value

We stayed here while visiting our daughter was going to a nearby college. The staff was very helpful. Parking was close by so there were no issues with that. We will stay here again when we come back to St Paul

Stay Far Far away
By Lisha, 03/10/09
We have stayed her a couple of times, my son has medical treatment in Minneapolis and this hotel offers a good rate but that is it. The last 2 times we stayed there we had problems. The heat did not work in our room the first time and when I asked the front desk they told us that there were no one there at night to fix it and they would bring more blankets. The last time we stayed we checked in late (10 hr drive to get there) and when we got to our room my husband went to leave and the door handle came off in his had, after we figured out how to get it on enough to get out we went to the front desk to let them know and she moved us, to the room I had on the first stay and still not heat, the thermostate is broken, glass shattered so you can not turn up the heat. We went back down to tell her and she was so rude, she told my husband that next room was the last in the house and that we would have to make due. She moved us to a 2nd floor room, my son is on crutches and has a bad leg, since there is no elevator we had to carry him. This room was nice and smelled clean but was right above the pool and there was birthday party going on until well after midnight. We went back down the next morning to see if we could move to a ground floor room so my son could get in and out. This girl was so nice and helpful and said she would refund the first night. When I got home they had charged the first night but no refund. So I called and I got a very rude person who told me that she did not believe there was no heat in the room and that because we got a discounted rate there would be no refund. We used the pool the 2nd night and it was cold and my son commented that the kiddie pool "smelled like frog water". Rude front desk.

Stay here if you want to ruin your Vacation!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/08
WOW.........where do I start. Oh yeah, DON'T STAY HERE!!!!!! I was appalled when I checked in to this hotel. The dirty concrete floors, open ceiling beams filled with cobwebs, and the smell of the building was an absolute turn off, I thought about turning around and walking right back out....but decided to give it a chance and check out the room first. Big mistake, it only got worse. The room was absolutely disgusting, I'm sure the walls and door had not been cleaned for years, there was a thick yellow film across the door, and the room reeked! The bed was made and the floors were vacuumed but that was about all they did to clean after the last guest. After about 15 minutes, my husband and I decided that staying here was out of the question. We went to check out......I was polite and quite when discussing the condition of our room, they offered another room but we declined after seeing the condition of the first room. We were then told by staff we were free to leave and that was it. No apologies, nothing! The staff at the front desk was less than enthused to be there and I don't blame them they probably have to deal with this a lot.

Excellent Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/23/08
I checked in very late at night and the young gentlemen that was working said he didnt have a first floor room available, but he could help me carry my bags upstairs. This was the first sign that this was going to be a great place to stay. The next morning i went to the front desk to let them know that the wireless internet wasnt working too well, the young lady working was wonderful and very helpful to get me hooked up again and able to work online. I then proceeded to have breakfast and chatted with the older lady who was the hostess about everything. She was wonderful! The hotel itself is wonderful, unique, gorgeous structure. It is also located no more than 5 miles from anythign you could ever want. Very friendly, efficent staff who were well trained and eager to please their customers. I would reccomend this hotel and i will definitley be back again.

The Bat was the best part
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/08
The Pool was cold the hot tub didn't work. We were in the pool area the 1st night of our stay and a bat flew through the pool area and scared some of the people in the pool area. Staff was friendly. We were told we would have a fridge in 2 of the three rooms and we didn't have any until we complained. The Heat in the one room did not work right. I don't think we would stay again

Nice Stay
By Big Man, 10/30/07
Visited the Twin Cities for a hockey game, and stayed at the Bandana... Very unique hotel - very clean, nice pool and decent continental breakfast. It only took 5-10 minutes to get to the Mall of America and was easy to find. There's a bar a block away where you can go pre-game and then they shuttle their patrons to and from the hockey game. Good stuff!
