Be warned! Newly remodeled doesn't mean better service!

Local resident seeking shelter during weather-related power outage. Easy to find, but some of the front desk staff was untrained, unkempt, unprofessional. I had heard that the new management had made some positive changes, however, new counter tops and headboards are no substitute for some good housekeeping skills. Checked the room out before moving my things in and there was hair in the sink, toilet seat was dirty, and shower tiles were moldy. I was desperate...there were no other rooms in town. Power at home was finally back on after a couple of hours of shopping & dinner. We had not been in the room other than to look it over, but the person at the desk said they couldn't refund even partially, that it "has been too long". They were charging $66/double room, which is their "holiday rate" to locals who were seeking a warm place to stay and get a shower! Hope they have a Happy Holiday Season!
