Del Lago Waterfront Conf Ctr & Rst, Montgomery

All of the rooms and bathrooms have been entirely renovated. The grounds have gone through extensive changes and is now more of a full service water resort. The golf course has been refreshed as well and the new loby building is stunning. It has a few problems still, but shabbiness is not one of them.

I have stayed at Del Lago many times in the past. The last being summer of 1999. I took my wife there this weekend for her birthday. What a dump!. I have always enjoyed the hotel up to this point. It looks like a roach motel now. Dirty, ran down and no hot water. Even the sports bar has gone out of buisness. Of course the web site still promotes it. I would'nt pay $25 to stay there again. They should tear it down if they are going to let it rot away.

This was my first time at Del Lago. We were really looking forward to staying at a Top Rated resort. Well, what a disappointment. The room was dirty, there were small roaches in the bathtub. The carpet was old & stained. The beds were old & VERY uncomfortable!! The furniture was old and in bad shape. The TV set was from the 1970's, the ice box did not work and was old and dirty. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

There are great golf cottages for larger groups of people to stay in - like for Ren Faire. Almost like coming home with all the amenities they have. It may sound expensive, but if you have a group of 6 - it's perfect.

I feel strongly enough to log on and write a review. I see 2 reviews ahead of me and they are right. I'm not going to be as nice though and give the 3 stars. I'm going to say 2 star. Yes, the view of the lake is nice but the hotel is in bad need of an update. The sheets were clean but the couch and chair cusions were all stained to where you thought twice about sitting on them. Our water in the bathroom was brown coming out of the faucet. It felt like a teenager Spring Break hotel. Every cabinet in the kitchen had striping hanging loose. It was way over priced for what we got.

I'm sure that in it's day the Del Lago was a top resort. However, it's run down and in need of repair. The owners would do well to put some of their profits back into the property. The bed was awful and the A/C unit very loud. Due to the cost we will most likely NOT stay there again.
