Fall Creek Falls Resort Inn, Pikeville

My first impression of the outside of the inn was pleasant. Situated next to the lake. Beautiful setting. However, once inside the room, I was disappointed. Concrete walls, musty smell. Have to flush commode 3 times to get it to work properly each time. Heard and felt every door opening and shutting in the entire complex because they are huge steel doors. Stained carpet. Water in shower would run from hot to cold and back again. My kids were frantic when they were showering. The beds were so hard that my entire body ached the next morning. No cable tv. The restaurant is the most overpriced, worst tasting food I have honestly ever experienced. the only other food option is one primative vending machine with chips and candy bars in it that doesn't work properly. I did love the swimming pool next door but I believe there were a lot of people there that weren't even guests of the inn or cabins. I really wouldn't stay there if there is any other choice in the park.

This is a great place to "get away from it all", and I do mean that literally. You will be away from EVERYTHING. The closest fast-food joint and big-box retailer is about 30 (maybe more) miles away. The Inn is in Fall Creek Falls State Park near Pikeville, TN. After entering the park, the Inn is probably still another 5 or 6 miles into the park, and since the road is very curvy, and there are deer running around all over the place, it will still take you about 10-15 minutes after entering the park to actually get to the Inn. The posted speed limit is 40 mph, but as I was coming in at night, in the before mentioned conditions, I was barely doing over 30 mph. There are plenty of signs directing you to the Inn, and since you won't be traveling too fast, it isn't hard to find. The Inn itself sits next to a beautiful huge lake, and I think every room is lakeside. There aren't really any bells and whistles to speak of. The surroundings of the park are the bells and whistles. The room we had (#162) is called a "parlor room", which simply means, instead of having a sliding door that leads out to a patio, we had a small kitchinette and table that seated 4 people. The room had high-speed internet access, and basic cable television, with 23 channels, including CNN and ESPN. The worst comment I have about the place is that the mattress was DREADFULLY uncomfortable, but I should point out that I rarely sleep well in a different bed than my own, so take from that what you will. There is a buffett style restaurant on site, as well as a pool (closed in the winter), gift shop, pool table, and several large conference rooms for events and meetings. If you love the outdoors, or just love getting away from the usual grind, Fall Creek Falls is an excellent choice, and basically, the Inn at Fall Creek Falls is your ONLY choice, but still, it's all you need, very affordable, and a beautiful place to be.

Beautiful natural mountian park. 4 waterfalls,swimmin holes, hiking, biking, golf, fishing. Lots of nature and wildlife still unspoiled by development. Beautiful lakeside inn with meeting space and restaurant.
