Great for a buisiness holding point.
By kyled, 01/25/10
The motel is good considering the town it is in. All in all Louisiana, MO is a very gloomy place. You'd be very hardpressed to find people that excited about waking up in the morning. I stayed here for business and it worked great. The wireless was a little slow but it allowed me to accomplish everyhting that I needed to. The proximity to the railroad tracks will get you in the middle of the night if your a light sleeper but all in all I would not hesitate to stay here again if I was in the area.

Very accommodating for boaters
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/18/09
The owner of the Motel has been very accommodating for our group of boaters arriving from Grafton to the Two Rivers Marina every year by providing us with transportation from marina to motel and returning. Also providing transporation to nearby restaurants. The motel is very clean and quiet with great service. View is great overlooking the river. Great place to stay!!

Will stay here at least once a year from now on!
By Janice, 07/27/09
Very friendly owners, very clean rooms, very convenient for family reunions (my mother lives near Clarksville, and that motel was ghastly). We don't stay at Mom's because of lack of room, no internet and no cell phone coverage. Plus, we forgot my husband's camera, and they called to let us know. Great, honest people!

Location, price, comfort -- fantastic
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/28/09
My wife and I have stayed here for years, once a year when we drive across the country. Always comfortable, clean, friendly -- excellent location overlooking the river -- worth missing St. Louis for!

Great place to stay!.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/28/08
When I come to Louisiana, Missouri, there is no other place I want to stay. The staff is friendly and professional. They always have time to chat and make you feel welcome. The rooms, linens, small fridge, microwave and coffe pot are always very clean. You can tell the owners take pride in their estabishment. The price is extremely reasonable, especially for a hotel with a wonderful view of the Mississippi river. Restaurants, convenient stores and other retail stores are nearby. I recommend this quiet hotel for a single person, family or older couples.

Convenient for boaters!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/02/08
Cruising from Minneapolis to Chicago in a small boat, the marina at Rockport, IL was one of our overnight stops. River's Edge Motel is on the other side of the Mississippi from the marina. A gentleman from the motel picked us up in his Lexus at the marina within 20 minutes of being called. The next morning he brought us back to the marina within five minutes of our asking. The place isn't fancy, but it was spotless. It's an easy three-block hike into town with a variety of restaurants. Gas station convenience stores are 100 yds. away. Good place!

BMW rider

My group arrived via motorcycle from Mountain View, AR. We found the newly refurbished rooms to be more than adequate in meeting our needs. We were particularly impressed with the manager's effort to accommodate us both in providing transportation to/from a restaurant across the Mississippi and a tour of the mansions overlooking the river. From our rooms on the upper unit of the motel we had a great view of the mighty river, a view enhanced by some 30 eagles in the area. I have no reservation in recommending this facility to fellow motorcyclists.

Wonderful Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/11/08
I would recommend this motel to everyone. The Gentelman running the motel was SUPER SWEET!!!! Very helpful. The room was great. Very clean. I was told that I would get a room right by the river. I thought that it would be close but not right there. Let me tell you, it was RIGHT BY THE RIVER. We went to see the eagles and in the morning when we woke, we opened the windows and saw them flying right outside, I WILL be back at this hotel!!! I can't wait!!!!

I stay here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/07
When you are in Louisiana, MO this is only Motel, but there are several B&Bs. This is an independent Motel and does NOT have a web site. You have to call to find the rates and make reservations. Do not trust any internet posting on price. I have paid much more and had worse rooms. This Motel is an unexpected joy at the price I paid. The rooms are very clean and well maintained, it is like they were just remodeled. There is cable TV and high speed internet (wired & wireless) in the room. This Motel is very well located if you are vising or doing business in LA, MO. The resturant near by burned down years ago so you will have to get in your car and go to one of the local resturants, but that 1/2 to 2 mile drive. The motel is on a hill. The main section is at the base of the hill and at the same level as US 54. There is an upper level section roughly 100 feet up the hill with its own parking lot and a dozen rooms. The upper level rooms have a nicer view of the Mississippi due to elevation.

price gouging
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/07/07
They charged me 69.00 when it is advertised at 53.00. they refused to give us a smoking room when I had one reserved. I had to give them a credit card # to hold the room but paid cash when i arrived. They still took $15.42 from my credit card. dissapointed!!
