Select Inn Minot, Minot

Lets face it. Minot is experiencing an oil boom and yes hotels, restaurants and business people will charge what the market will bear. There is often no place to stay in this town but this hotel went through a lot of trouble to make sure to notify me when the first person that cancelled came up. And not only that, when they had another cancellation they called us to tell us we might enjoy this room over the other because it was in the rear away from the main street traffic. I have never had a hotel do this.

Made reservations prior to my event in Minot. When I got there, they had jacked up the rate by over $50 per night. Said that they had a price increase and had called everyone. Not So!! Taking advantage of the current oil boom. Rooms were supposed to be smoke free, but when I left the next morning, I smelled like I had smoked a couple of packs, and I have never smoked a day in my life. Breakfast is store bought packaged donuts that were a few days old already. Stay Away, find a better place to stay or go to a different town. Wanted to not put any rating in for value or cleanliness but it won't let me post without putting something in... Buyer beware, the ratings are not correct...

All in all very impressed. We were a little hesitant about staying here, generally low price means well, you know. The whole hotel could use an overhaul but it was clean. The halls and stairs looked like they needed a good vacuuming but the rooms themselves were very clean. Like I said, it needed an updating but it was just a room to sleep in. I could see if you were spending a lot of time in the room, you might not enjoy it. We found the beds comfortable. We also like to have a fan running in our room (which we bring along), I noticed the doors not to be sound proof, so I'm glad that we did. The only problem I have is it's way on the other side of town, so you have to drive if you want to get to the malls and stuff.

this place is not the 5+ star hotel some claim to be nor do they claim to be. it has been clean, very quiet considering they are right across from the airport, comfortable and friendly to us. NO WORSE or better than others we have stayed @ and for a reasonable fee. it is older but still not bad for $45 vers $95.

I had read some reviews on Budget inn that were not that great and recent so was little Leary..... however, I can honestly say we were NOT in the least disappointed....... with them $ 60.00( taxes in.)I could easily say not bad......I will go back.

...I had read some reviews on Select Inn that were not that great so was a little leary...however, I can honestly say we were NOT in the least disappointed...it would have been nice to have a pool, however, with them taking Canadian money at par, which worked out to 42.13 Canadian,(taxes in), I could easily forfeit the pool. It was clean, the staff was helpful and friendly and the breakfast bar, although not much to choose from, was adequate (fresh and tasty)....I will go back again!
