Good and Bad
By SueH, 11/5/09
The room was clean. Bed was comfortable. But ... No safety lock on the door. And at 3:30 a.m. someone tried to get into my room. He was talking, loudly, on a cell phone outside my door and sticking his key in the door, trying to jerk the door open. I called the front desk immediately and I got a recording "thank you for calling Briar Inn. If you know the extension..." I tried calling several times all the while the man was trying to open my door. I was a woman traveling alone and terrified. I never did get the front desk to answer, however, the man finally realized, in his drunken state, that he had the wrong room and opened the door to the room next to mine. I didn't sleep much after that, even with a comfortable bed!!!

NEVER AGAIN
By Matt, 10/5/09
Our visit was one to remenber. The room was dirty with the hair in the tub and bathroom floor, a spider in the tub, the spider webs above the sink, they have the right idea though its hard to complain about the room when the phone doesn't work. The tv remote wouldn't work either and was wrapped in black electrical tape. when i told the lady at the front desk she said "Oh i'm sorry" i think she was use to hearing complaints about the rooms. This was not what was advertised. Had i known i would have kept driving on up the road. I'm still waiting on a response from the manager but i'm not holding my breath

LIED ABOUT RATE! $174 A NIGHT
By Brooke, 5/1/09
NO phone in room, no safety lock, no clock/radio, bathroom light worked intermittently, no response to correct any of these issues - asked for ground floor was given second floor though first floor remained empty. rate quoted was $69 a night - ACTUALLY WAS CHARGED $174 A NIGHT AVOID THIS TRAP. STAY at the Super 8 or Holiday Inn Express nearby.

Well.... "B-"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/24/08
I've stayed here several times and only the past few times have been less than satisfactory. The rooms are very clean and spacious, and the beds are really cozy. The bar was nice it had the "at home" atmosphere appeal. Evening staff (Lindsey, and Jo) are amazing and willing to do anything you ask them too- like bring us extra towels, a rollaway bed ect. On the other side of the clock, the morning staff isn't so pleasent... My receipt was thrown at me and when I asked to make reservations for the following month, I was told(in the ruddest tone possible) that I would have to "just call us, I can't do that now, I'm to busy" --The phones wern't ringing and there were like two people behind me in line to check out. I didn't catch it completly but i think her name started with a "C". She was very rude, and I didn't appreciate it. Overall I would reccomend this hotel to my friends, it is affordable, and very nice. My grade for this place would be a "B-"

Never again.........
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/08
We have always stayed here when we came to visit my mother in law. This visit was for her funeral. The room was clean but why does the staff have to start rolling those noisy housekeeping carts at 630 in the morning? The late night staff was very rude to my husband. He just wanted batteries for the TV remote. He was given an old remote with no back on it and told "If this doesn't work, you will just have to get up and change the station." And to top it off, we were charged an extra $10 this past weekend because "there was a bus coming in on the 18th." How is that my concern? Not a valid reason for upping the room rate. It was so noisy on the pool side due to someone leaving their diesel truck running for 30+ minutes. Staff didn't seem to care that diesel fumes were invading the hotel room. Like I said....never again. We went to the new Holiday Inn Express where we were welcomed with open arms. The staff even kept breakfast out a little longer for us. Even offered their condolences.

Worth it!
After being unable to book rooms in virtually any other Lewisburg area hotel/motel a week ahead, we ended up calling the Brier Inn and were pleasantly surprised. Convenient location (to I-64 and many restaurants), competitive pricing, clean, comfortable rooms and baths, clean (though small) pool, FREE FULL breakfast (not fancy, but filling), and its own lounge/bar. My only complaint was the overnight noise from a group of partiers, which got resolved once the front desk was notified.

Great, Great stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/08
I was riding with the "Run For The Wall" org, and got to Lewisburg and hadn't booked a room there. The staff found not only me a room, but another rider in the same boat a room. The rooms were great and the staff very friendly. Great places to eat within walking distance. Was just an all around enjoyable stay. I am booked in there again in May of 2009.

I was cheated out of my money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/08
I reserved a room for 2 nights. They were charging me $100 a night. I had a family emergency and had to cancel. I canceled 24 hours in advance of my reservation. I was told that I was going to be charged the $200 for the two nights. This leaves the motel free to rent the room again and make a hugh profit. I resent this and I would advice everyone to stay clear of this place. The place is supposed to have reasonable rates. At $100 I could have stayed at a high class hotel. All motels that I have delt with before charges only when the customer arrives, and if you cancel within 24 hours you are not charged. This place is a real rip off. Florence May Columbus, OH

Very restless nights!
By Tom, 7/7/08
This is the first time I've ever felt compelled enough by a hotel visit, to write a review! Day 1 While visiting family this 4th of July, i spent three "Miserable" nights at the Brier Inn. Approximately, 2:30am I was awoken by a group of Men/idiots screaming and cursing. Given it was the 4th I just simply wrote it off as drunks. Well, after an hour of this in front of my door I called the front desk. To her credit, the attendant did ask the Men/idiots to be quiet. From that point on, it was a constant barrage of slamming doors and shouting. Eventually, I myself asked the Men/idiots(4:00am) to please keep it down. After which time they went into their rooms and began pounding on the walls. Day 2 2:30am! Awoken, by the door purposely being slammed and loud, profane cursing! After approx. 30 minutes of dosing off and waking up. I again, contacted the front desk. Martha, asked the Men/idiots to "Please keep it down". After which they began to become even more chaotic. Day 3 After two nights of being on edge, little sleep and being awoke abruptly by something as simple as the air conditioner. We were fortunate enough to leave the Brier Inn, for a multiple hour road trip fueled by caffeine...
