Can't wait to get there!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/31/09
We have been coming for years and have always been very happy with every-thing! Wonderful view of the ocean, close to all the restaurants, shopping etc. We have ridden the bikes last few years and it was really nice. We feel we are getting alot for our money, they have the best prices and you are truly getting a great room with a fantastic view! We are coming again this year!

You get what you pay for...
By kaseyt, 06/15/09
You want a cheap oceanfront hotel right in the middle of the broadwalk -- The Breaker's is right for you, but wait -- you do get what you pay for.... To start your oceanfront view may be partially blocked by an ugly yellow wall due to the hotels odd construction - rooms on the north side of the building have the view of the south beach blocked by the south end of the hotel. Rooms are old and showing age - carpet and flooring dirty. Elevator -- only one and it is slow and hot -- they even have a clip on fan attached to the ceiling in it. Room service -- can be really, really good or really, really bad -- just depends on which lady is cleaning your room - our room was not vacuumed one day, the tub not cleaned, and no clean towels left for us. Pool - small, good for little kids as it is only 5 ft deep and is shaded most of the day... Front desk - often seemed as though no one was there - Ginger was friendly though. The cafe - food is not bad and reasonably priced, but your entire order may not come out all at the same time. The Penthouse.... Jacuzzi tub is showing its age. Roof top deck has no shade and is very hot during the day due to the the rest of the black roof absorbing heat. Deck has a poorly marked 4 inch step that is near impossible to see at night. I fell, twisting an ankle, skinning 1 knee, both elbows, busting my lip, and getting a bloody nose not to mention the sore shoulder and arm. My husband told the young man at the desk it need to be better marked and his reply was that there is a sign -- yeah, a small sign way over to the side that cannot be seen at night -- no concern for my injuries at all. Like I said -- if you want cheap, this place is it, but personally "nice" sometimes counts more than cheap... We will never stay here ever again....

A great place to stay!
By Emily, 06/14/09
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was in a great location, in the middle of everything. It was very clean and well cared for. We had a suite which was very comfortable and roomy, with a great view. The cafe had great food and was very affordable. Our only regret was that it closed at 2pm. It's too bad that it wasn't open for dinner a couple of nights. They had the BEST crab cakes and crab soup on the strip. It would have been nice if the Breakers had a volleyball net set up for the guests to use. Using the free bikes provided by the hotel was a great way to exercise. The Breakers is a great place for a family vacation.

Great value - on the beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/13/09
Great location, much less expensive than the other hotels right on the boardwalk. Thought it was a great value for the price. Very clean and comfortable.

Great Hotel will return
By Tina, 05/24/09
I thought the staff were all very nice and made us feel at home. The room was cleaned each day and anything I asked room service to do they did. It was my daughter's b-day and they put her name out on thier sign wishing her a happy b-day. One male front desk staff was not so friendly but, the rest were all so very nice.I would stay there again. The view was incredible. The hotel gets 5 stars from me for their treating us like we were home. As far as value goes it was a great deal. Unbelievable actually.Looking out into the ocean from your room and private balcony, is priceless. After walking the boardwalk, all the ocean front hotels looked the same. Perhaps four were a little more upscale, but, for the price, the view and service, I cannot complain! Loved it there.

Great place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/08
Several of my friends & I reserve rooms @ the Breakers every fall. Even off season the entire staff go out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The small cafe is great for breakfact & lunch. Just an overall friendly staff & suroundings. The room rates are very reasonable & there's a small fridge & microwave in each room. A suite can sleep 6 comfortably & there's a small full size kitchen, for those that want to cook. It's not new but has been remodled & is asways clean. Great location on the beach.

home away from home
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/26/08
i have been staying at breakers in va. beach, for 12 years, every september. we have stayed thru four hurricanes. one really bad one. we stayed in our room, even though we could have left. we were surprised how much damage there was outside. the management refunded part of our money when we left, even though we didn't ask for or expect that. one year out of 13. we stayed in the place next door one year ,but we couldn't wait to get back to breakers where you feel like people care about you and your family. the people who manage the place and the maids were great. the food is good in the restaurant. even tho they have internet i hope they have upgraded to wifi.. we are going home to breakers in two weeks. see you there !!!!!

LOVED The Breaker's Inn
By Allthings, 07/29/08
This was our first staty @ The Breakers and it far exceeded my expectations! Several great things: 1.) room - clean, odor free and every room has a oceanview 2.) housekeeping - hands down, the best! 3.) location - w/in feet of the ocean, the Pier, DQ, nightime entertainment 4.) no bugs 5.) cost for value - exceptional 6.) safety - I slept like a baby every night In a nutshell, The Breaker's will be my hotel of choice for our next visit!

A wonderful vacation
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/30/08
We just returned from a 5 day vacation that spanned Memorial Day weekend. The entire experience, from booking the room initially right through checkout was terrific. In less than 3 days after making telephone reservations, I had a paper confirmation in hand. When we checked in on late on Friday, tired from a long drive, we discovered the room next door was hosting a party. I mentioned it at the front desk and was told it would be taken care of immediately. It was and we didn't hear a peep from any of our neighbors the rest of the trip. The location is excellent, in the midst of the boardwalk and within walking distance to everything. The king jacuzzi room was terrific and cleaned perfectly each day. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, courteous and helpful. The price we paid for the holiday was about par for the area but the days after the holiday were quite reasonable. We will be returning to the Breakers!
